He's just a nice guy!!!! I used to live a world where the thought of rejection felt like jumping to my death. Where I was too afraid to ask for the things I wanted, reflexively seeding my own interests for others. I would be whoever I thought someone wanted me to be instead of being what I am. Thankfully, over many years, I've been able to work through this and I feel much better about myself :)

But what of those who sit in this feeling, enraptured in expectations of masculinity, in a world where the term "manosphere" is unironically cannon; how quickly people pleasing and anxious attachment can make someone dangerous. We don't need to make excuses for men who are violent, manipulative, or toxic simply because they're insecure.
