I feel like Eris felt something similar especially during their younger years with Zaros, because even now he can do and act in certain ways that they cannot due to their high standing.

Simultaneously, he helped/helps them think about what they really want out of life, not just what they’ve been told to want. 

I feel like that’s part of what shakes their mask.
