Hell is real and it's people doing total system conversions of other TTRPG's to D&D 5e.

I've seen people take a TTRPG and "convert" it to 5e. You've taken a thing, skinned it, and then put that skin on a framework it doesn't fit on. Stop it. Good games are designed in the system they're in for a reason.

I found a game I (The Tavernkeep) adore!

It's called RIG, and it's super clean. It's a "Carved in Rune" game, so the system is simple but tactical. The Mech customization is great for builds, and the Dark Souls-inspired atmosphere and gameplay loop are both top notch. It's so clean and sharp, it tickles my brain in all the right ways!

It is definitely for boardgame than RPG, which is a bit disappointing, but I seriously recommend it. It's convinced me to look into Rune, as if the system can be used for a game this good, I'm excited to see how the original plays.
