K’hym was placed in front of a chess board, her face neutral as she moved her chest piece into play. “You this is a lot more fun, when people would actually play me.” K’hym mused before looking up to the other person . “So do you want to play a round?”
“Sure, I will bite,” Teddy replied, sitting across from her with a smirk. "Forgive me, chess isn't my game of choice, so I haven't played in awhile, but I couldn't resist a game against a pretty girl."
“Knight in shining armor, no,” Teddy replied honestly. “I’m more of a...shall we say...a rogue. Not quite good, not quite bad and following my own code. I hope that’s okay with you, Beautiful.”
“Well they got Rogue, Gambit, Nightwing and Starfire from what I can say off the top of my head,” Teddy replied. “I mean Starfire is enough right there. She’s a powerhouse AND she’s a babe.”
“Okay, what did you do make ARGUS ‘overreact’ then?” Teddy asked, raising his eyebrows at her. He was genuinely curious to hear what she had to say in regards to an offense. He couldn’t imagine a petite thing like her getting up to much trouble.
“Regardless of your balance, you certainly have the looks of a princess,” Teddy replied, pulling her up with a smirk. She had a cute blush to her. He would need to make sure she did that more often. “I’m Teddy Queen. Can get the name of my princess?”
“Good point,” Teddy replied, privately smirking to himself before returning his gaze to her. “But being this long without something starting up has made me antsy. I can’t wait for the actual training to start up. I hear we have some heavy hitting instructors and free food is always a plus.”
“I would prefer you do,” Teddy replied with a smirk, leaning in close so that their faces were close to touching. “What’s the fun of playing with fire if you don’t have the scar to prove it?” He asked in a silky tone. This girl was fun, whether she knew it or not.
“Pleasure to meet you, Ben, I’m Teddy and I kinda could tell you’re new. You have all this excited energy about you. The rest of us at this point are antsy and paranoid,” Teddy replied with a chuckle, giving her a friendly pat on the shoulder.
“Government organizations tend to do that,” Teddy replied with a small chuckle. He leaned forward a bit, keeping a casual air. “So, I’m guessing you’re one of the chip kids. Wasn’t sure if the rumors were true. What did they get you for?”
"Oh, you one of those troubled kids that Bruce Wayne likes to collect, huh?" Teddy asked casually, eying him with interest. "So, you one of those Batwings, Robin Number Ten or some other kind of bird? There's a lot of them. I could never keep track."
“Sorry, man,” Teddy replied, realizing that it was probably a very sensitive topic for Oscar. He didn’t know the other guy well since Teddy always been more on the rebellious side, refusing to do anything with the Justice League, but didn’t mean he didn’t feel for him. He knew a lot of people who died the day the Watchtower exploded and that the wound was still fresh, despite it being over a year ago. “So you gonna use it now or what?”
“I’m going to need another cup of coffee before I can help or do anything.” Libby said filling up her mug for the second time. Once she had added the sugars, and creamer she turned to the person who had walked in. “So, what were you saying?”
"Just that you don't need anymore sugar in that coffee when you're already so sweet," Teddy replied with a chuckle as he drained the rest of his coffee. She was cute. Too straight lace to really be his type, but he couldn't resist a little flirting.
Maybe this terrain wasnt the best for Pippa to go on. Completely flat ground worked well for her, and sand was not completely flat. Finding herself on the ground again, she pouted softly and sat up. Pip ran her fingers through the sand before speaking. “It is pretty, but very hard to walk on.”
Teddy wasn’t often one to play knight in shining armor, but he couldn’t resist a cute girl in distress. He immediately ran over to the other girl and offered her a hand.
“I’ll help you up, Little Miss Snow White.”
Shifting her duffel bag higher on her shoulder, Ben looked up at the buildings of project legacy. She started forward, gripping her books tightly and trying to take in everything around her. In her excitement, she accidentally bumped into someone, scattering her books everywhere. “Sorry.” She shrugged, a lopsided smile on her face. “I guess I wasn’t paying attention.”
“It’s not a problem,” Teddy responded, grinning at her. He then crouched down to pick up some of her books and handed them to her. “I never have an issue when cute girls bump into me. I haven’t seen you around before, Sweetheart. What’s your name?”
Athena was in the shooting range, on her last round of dummies. As the empty clip hit the ground, she quickly replaced it with a fresh clip. The sound of another person’s voice made her turn suddenly around, the gun resting against her thigh, back straightening as she looked at them, Athena was currently trying to make herself more at ease than she really was. “If you’re trying to be stealthy it’s not working.” She mumbled, the barrel of the gun tapping against her thigh, thankfully the safety was on. “Do you need something?”
“I need a lot of things in life darling,” Teddy responded with a rakish grin. “But right now? Currently? At this moment? Your name, your number and the next time you’re free...Because life is short and you, my dear, are stunning.”
Moving the last of his shit into the house was more of a chore than he was prepared for. Banner wasn’t his first choice in houses, but he figured he could make do. With the last bag over his shoulder, he juggled small orbs of plasma as he walked and looked around
“Hmm, well, I’ll be damned, it’s a pretty swanky place they got here…” he trailed off as he walked.
"Of course, they are," Teddy responded with a small chuckle. "How else are they gonna get dumbasses like you and me to come here and play soldier for them? I mean, sure there are certain perks from it. I'm sure the native beach bunnies are gonna die when they see us but they needed incentives and this is it."
Lucky didn’t trust A.R.G.U.S. much, or at at all really. They’d never given her a reason to, if anything that had taken away any reason for to trust them when they decided she was bound rehabilitation. She had been six and it had been an accident. The idea of being anywhere where A.R.G.U.S. had any say over what she did didn’t sit well in her stomach.
“ Nice to know at least some A.R.G.U.S. training facilities don’t look and feel like a prison. ”
Teddy raised his eyebrows at the implication of her words. It sounded like she had crossed paths with A.R.G.U.S. before on bad terms. Teddy had heard rumors that there were a few questionable trainees here, but he hadn’t given them much thought until now.
“Sounds like you’ve caused a bit of trouble in your day,” Teddy replied, giving her a considering look as he casually starting restringing his bow.
