The Impact of Art on Our Lives
Have you ever watched a movie that struck your heart because you relate to it on a certain level? Or, read a classic book that still is relevant until now? Both of these and other works of art can move us so much that our perception of things deepens. The impact of art is necessary for individuals’ growth and even society’s. Having stated that, there is no point of scaling down the worth of art into vanity. Art is the voice of the unheard and the vision for progress of a once blinded individual in a society full of injustices. Moreover, it is used as a medium of ideas that inspires the growth of other ideas. This rippling impact awakens the victims of social injustices and thereby compels people to correct them. Individual Impact of Art In a personal light, the way art affects us permits us to deviate from its general interpretation. Because there is little to great difference in individual experiences, we, therefore, create our personal interpretations. This difference, however, does not define a person’s intellect. Rather, it delineates his past journey and defines how it has made him. Additionally, art exposes all human emotions and validates what social constructs do not. We so often detach ourselves from emotions that we think are not valid. But, art permits us to cherish these emotions and therefore celebrate being human in peace. Consequently, reasons of a misunderstood concept would flourish. Art is not simply a way of showing off a perfected talent. Rather, it is a way of exposing the truth of this world and perhaps the absurdity of humanity’s ways. In this sense, art mocks us for the creation of illogical concepts detrimental to the nature of man.
