I have the vision of a Bowser-realizing-feelings Bowuigi moment where he's like, trying to compliment Luigi for getting braver.

Luigi: I still scare easily, Bowser.

Bowser: Nah, c'mon Greenie! You're brave now! I mean, you're not even scared of ME anymore!

Luigi: ...because you're not being scary? If you decided to be scary again I'd still be scared of you.

And THIS changes Bowser's like, brain chemistry because it had never occurred to him that anyone could see him and NOT be scared because he's not being threatening. Because, he's BOWSER. He's literally MADE to be threatening, even when he's just standing there.

And there's this human who sees him for HIM and is like, no, you're not inherently a monster and you only frighten me when you DECIDE to become one. Which completely changes how he sees himself.

Bowser (mid-epiphany): The toads are still scared of me even when I'm not "being scary" though, so my point still stands.

Luigi: The toads would be scared of a goomba that sneezed too loud, that proves nothing.
