I've also been thinking about a situation where Dirk grows up in a!Dave's apartment with a!Dave raising him. Especially around the holiday season, I think a!Dave might put mistletoe up over the door, for "ironic" reasons, especially if they aren't Christian (or they are Christian and it's nowhere near Christmas). I think Dirk would almost always be dragging a!Dave over to the door so that a!Dave has to kiss him, because that's tradition.

And it's cute, because Dirk is just a little kid who wants more attention and affection from a!Dave. But every time a!Dave lets Dirk's little hands grab his and pull him in front of the door to the mistletoe, every time a!Dave leans down to kiss Dirk's forehead or cheek (Dirk is insistent that the tradition is supposed to be a kiss on the lips, but a!Dave is... Not doing that for reasons that he will not be explaining to Dirk), a!Dave is teaching Dirk that there are situations where one is entitled to receive affection.

It will come back to bite a!Dave in the butt when Dirk is a fully grown adult who's still clingy and a bit possessive towards his older brother. All the behaviors that were adorable when Dirk was a little six year old are creepy now that Dirk is an adult and should be moving out and finding a family of his own to take interest in.

I'm pretty sure I've posted about something similar before, but I've been thinking about Dirk fucking with a!Dave's porn recommendations.
