the vampire armand is definitely a creationist, which you might imagine would be a turn-off to daniel molloy. however, i think he doesn't feel that strongly about being a creationist, and likes to be won over to idealogical beliefs of anyone he's courting. and owning a creationist with facts and logic then fucking them is definitely one of daniel's most deeply held fantasies

i'm generally reserving judgement about tvl until the story wraps up (and currently have deeply mixed feelings about many things) but i do think it's a little ridiculous to have claudia specifically call out the train scene. felt like a deeply unnecessary "well! fine! lestat didn't do that! do you like him now?" moment in a scene which was otherwise so intense and heartbreaking

Am I the asshole for taking action to resolve a significant conflict in my life?

I (probably 517M) have been in conflict with ex-lover, enemy, and former coworker (260M). I will not exhaust you with every detail of our relationship except to say that it has been acrimonious, though significant to the trajectories of both of our lives.

Unfortunately, we are both in a rather narrow field, and greatly affected by each other's deeds. Recently, said former coworker has been making career moves which put our livelihood in great danger, and signal, possibly, the end of both of us.

I attempted to be the bigger person and communicate my feelings about said career choice. I did this with a personal and meaningful apology regarding past wrongs. In response, he suggested I kill myself and mocked details of my personal life, including our intercourse, to approximately 891 people while live on stage. This is irrelevant to my further actions, which were nothing but rational, but I note it as it holds some significance in the story.

Anyhow, my politely worded critique did nothing to change his plans, which he then accelarated. As I was out of other options, I released his sex tape (which, due to certain taboo material contained therein, was embarassing for him) and beheaded him, along with our ex-husband (as he was there). I believe this was the only logical way to proceed.
