âOh he´s gonna pay! Just watch.â Teresa almost yells after I tell her about everything that has happened during the past few weeks between Thomas and I. I also filled her in about everything that happened at the party and when Thomas showed up at my doorstep.
âJust leave it. Just because he´s an asshole doesn´t mean that we have to become one too. Besides he´s not even worth our time.â She opens her mouth, ready to protest but then closes it again.
âYou got the last part right.â She gives in and then adds, âSo you´re just gonna ignore him?â
I shrug, looking away from her. âYup. Shouldn´t be hard since I don´t care about him. Not anymore.â She chuckles at my response but is not fully convinced of what I just said, neither am I.
âSomething is bugging me thoughâŚâ Teresa says and shots me a doubtful look.
âAnd what´s that?â I ask as I unconsciously raise an eyebrow.
âWell⌠Usually Thomas never chase after girls, and I mean never. It´s always the girls chasing him, you know? So he just takes advantage of that. But when it came to you, he was the one who tried to get closer to you, repeatedly.â
âI guess he didn´t have any other choice. I would never chase after him, so he had to do something himself if he wanted to complete his stupid and disgusting mission.â I look down at my feet, trying to sound cool, like I donât care, avoiding eye contact with Teresa, knowing that she would see right through me.
âYeah but⌠he even came to apologies and-â
âAre you defending him now?â I cut her off, looking at her straight in her eyes.
âNo, no! Of course not! I just- Never mind, lets go.â She flashes me a smile then links her arm with mine and we start to walk towards the school library.
We entered the library arm in arm. Teresa removes her arm from mine, then walks over to an empty table with empty seats and sits down. I walk over to her and put my books and my bag down on the table before I take a seat in front of her. 1 hour into studying I can feel two eyes staring at me. My eyes leaves the book as I turn my head and look to the right, it´s Thomas, he forces a smile as his eyes never leaves mine. Without replying to his smile, I turn my head back to the book and continue with the reading. I can almost feel the upset look on his face when he slowly looks down hurt. I doesn´t take much time for his gaze to be back on me.
I sighed at my failed attempt of trying to concentrate and not get bothered by Thomas, whoâs eyes were still on me. âI´ll be right back.â I smiled at Teresa who had a puzzled look on her face as I got up from my seat. I walked over to a bookshelf that was as far away from Thomas as possible and started to look for a interesting book to read. My fingers leaves a light brush on the books one after one as my eyes looks for something interesting. My finger finally stops at a familiar old book with blue covers, I take the book out of the shelf and read the title ´The Great Gatsby´.
âIt´s a good book.â The sudden voice takes me by surprise, making me jump up and drop the book.
The light brown haired boy leans down and picks the book up then hands it over to me with a smile. âSorry, I didn´t mean to scare you.â I take the book out of his hand and put it back on the shelf. âIt´s okay.â I smile back at him.
âAren´t you gonna read it?â He asks pointing at the shelf.
âI already have.â
âOh, I see. I´m Gally by the way.â He grinned.
âY/N.â My eyes meets his green ones for a brief second. I shyly look away as he keeps staring.
âRight. You´re Thomas girl. I think I´ve seen you around a couple of times.â My jaw dropped, Thomas girl?
âExcuse me? What´s that supposed to mean?â I ask with furrowed eyebrows.
âUh, I thought you were his new girl or somethingâŚâ He mumbles embarrassed.
âWell Iâm not.â Surprisingly his face shines up, a bright smile playing on his face. âSo you´re free then?â He asks and I nod. âWhy do you ask?â He breaks the eye contact, looking down at his feet then back up at me. âCause I would love to take you out sometime.â A faint blush immediately spread across my cheeks.
âOh, um, I don´t knowâŚâ I mumbled, still blushing.
âIt´s okay, I get it.â He smiled but seemed disappointed with my answer.
âGood, now back off.â A familiar male voice came from behind. I turned around to see who it was, even though I knew who that voice belonged to. Thomas looked mad, really mad. He clenched his fists tightly as his eyes were on Gally, as if he was the only one there.
âDude, don´t tell me what to do.â Gally chuckled. Thomas was just about to say something, probably something rude but got cut off by me. âYou know what? On second thought, I´d love to go out with you.â
