One of the best autumn displays I have seen, 12 years ago in the Porcupine Mountains of Michigan [OC] [854 x 1280] - Author: PinnaclePhotography on reddit
First rotation and I already can't wait for next month. It's frustrating this hospital claims to be so "busy" with patients but yet doesn't do anything regarding patient care. It also seems very disorganized. Last thing....the residents don't scrub many cases at their home location because they scrub most of their cases at outside services. Tbh kinda concerning because are they actually performing the cases when they're on their outside rotations or are they scrubbed in to learn? In general, it's the first week and I'm over this place.
The upside to this place is that I get done pretty early! Which means I got out the other day for a lovely 3.5 ish mile hike. My favorite part was the peak where, I, a studious medical student, sat and reviewed content before finishing the last little bit. Low-key, I'll probably go back to do the same thing. The views, the vibes....purely immaculate

Went for a small hike today before med school rotations. Got a little lost because I missed the path/sign to take while taking in all the sights and sounds. Luckily I ran into a couple of doggos named Gus and Thomas whose owners told me my path loops into my trail!

Inktober #6: 🎃
one of the funniest things abt this white collar job so far is that i get to see how fucking long people take for the tiniest things. "please paste this text into a separate document and send it to me whenever you're able to this week" i mean shit, man, i know what it's like to take weeks for a 2 minute task, but that's wild even for my standards. like yeah i can probably find the time to press the copy and paste buttons sometime this week
meanwhile when you do restaurant work one of the waiters will come in and go "okay we have 27 new orders, including three cakes made from scratch, 53 cups of coffee, 60 appetizers and an entire horse roasted on a stick. it'll need to be done within the next 7 minutes before the small town that rented out hall c for a wedding arrives" and you'll be like ah this christmas is so chill compared to last year
sometimes you dont eat fruit for awhile and then you eat some fruit and you're like oh fuck its fruit
one thing at a time. one chore, one assignment, one task, one day. one at a time and go from there. breathe. you can do this- this one thing.
I went to the place where we come from, the sea, and asked how to live. Air and water touched me, coming and going. And along with the whole earth, I breathed. This is how, little one, the sea whispered, this is how we live.
uh so i never do this but maui is quite literally on fire and there isn't nearly enough care or consideration for. you know. Native Hawaiians who live here being displaced and the land (and cultural relevance) that's being eaten up by the fire. so if ya'll wanna help, here's some links:
