Chapter I
. . .
My name isn't Mu'minah, despite what they'll try to tell you. I've learned how deceitful this world is for those who diverge from the common ground. For years, I'm the only one who's known the truth.
Let me set this straight.
People will lie to you, they will tell you things like, "she will protect us" and, "she is always watching over us." They say her light is warm. They call her Mother. They will tell you the sun will always rise tomorrow. That we will always see a new day. A new dawn.
The sun always rises tomorrow, they tell me.
And for years, I believed them. Yes, I believed Her, because I wanted to believe that we will all be saved one day. I was scared, alone, weak.
But I look up at the sky, and nothing remains. Now, the moon, and maybe a few stars if I squint my eyes and try my hardest to see them.
How could I have been so foolish?
Day by day, people grew colder, meaner, greedier. Dumber. How can they not see what is right in front of them? This... This prison they created, the mind and soul forever caged in its own creation.
Nah, I don't believe them anymore. Destiny, fate, whatever you want to call it. All things those wolves tell you to keep you in their compliant herd of sheep.
Me? I've decided to create my own fate. Something... Something better than fate, no less. I'll use this pen to write this letter to you, and I want you to remember. I want every one of you to remember.
My name is Believer.
And I am your saviour.
