One more week to go before we continue with the saga that is "Dark Nights Metal" by @ssnyder1835 and @real_greg_capullo , so here I am bringing my 'shop work back and making a fan tribute to the first issue's "Midnight Release" cover which uses the art of Greg Capullo. My Batman Rebirth cosplay saw time around the first day of @asiapopcomicon Manila 2017, and I fortunately found an axe to grind and use... It's been 19 years since Hideo Kojima released this classic for the original PlayStation, but it feels like yesterday... And so is this awesome photo of my Solid Snake cosplay from a few years back based on his out during the Shadow Moses incident in MGS1. It's been a while and the MGS franchise has changed since Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain two years ago and Kojima-San's departure from Konami, but we can still honor the good times and memories the franchise gave us. Hard to believe it's been one week already since @asiapopcomicon 2017 hit and brought us what is arguably one of the BEST pop culture and hobby experiences in the Philippines by far! After announcing my cosplans for the weekend of August 25 - 27, I wasn't so sure if I could pull all of these looks off and enjoy the convention experience... Yet here we are and here's a collage of ALL my alter egos (and me) standing in front of Hall 3's entrance and in front of the #APCCPH2017 logo.👊🏻 Day 1| Friday I trooped as Ryu - The World Warrior from Street Fighter and Batman as he appears in DC Rebirth. Day 2| Saturday I started off donning the Green Arrow outfit from Arrow Season 5 before wrapping up the day as Spider-Man ala Todd McFarlane to join the rest of Spider-Verse PH. Day 3| Sunday was all dedicated to my current cosplay of Ben Affleck's Batman as he appears in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Along with CAZ, I got to meet and have a pic w/ Ray Fisher, better known as Cyborg in the upcoming Justice League Movie. That, meeting Shōji Kawamori & Gaku Space, plus meeting all my friends and fellow cosplayers, just made this one unique weekend to remember. Today, August 30 2017, marks the 30TH ANNIVERSARY of @streetfightergame - undeniably one of the most important games of my childhood and which started my path into seriously playing video games and every iteration of the franchise I can get a hold of. It's hard to imagine how LONG this series has gone - starting with a not so memorable title only to emerge as THE fighting game to set the standard with the release of #StreetFighterII a few years later. I first got my start in the series with #SFII for the #SuperNES thanks to my cousins, and since then I was hooked - I had to play #StreetFighter whether it be in the arcades or in one of the 90's "Console Wars" systems that were available. Owning a SEGA #MegaDrive/ #Genesis, my very first Street Fighter game was "Street Fighter II: Special Championship Edition. I'd play that game casually, and wouldn't take my fighting game skills seriously until the arrival of #StreetFighterAlpha in 1995, which was ported to the original #PlayStation and helped cement Sony's system as my console of choice through the years. Fast forward to 2008, and #StreetFighterIV came into the picture - ending over a decade of fighting game drought since the release of the last #StreetFighterIII update in #StreetFighterIII3rdStrike. That brought both the competitive and nostalgia factors back, not to mention being back the hype that is the annual #EvolutionChampionshipSeries and the rise of the #CapcomFighters sponsored #CapcomCup tournaments held around the world. With the latest entry, #StreetFighterV, being a hit or miss for some but still a top contender in the Esports scene, Capcom's brawler franchise has seen it all, gone through many evolutions, and remains a favorite for many fans and gamers worldwide. This year I was honored to FINALLY cosplay my main character in the series in #Ryu, as well as meet @Artgerm - who I got to know in @AsiaPOPComicon this year and buy a print of his AMAZING RENDITION of the headband wearing World Warrior poster boy of the Street Fighter series. But imagine my surprise discovering this #KungFury/ #StreetFighter mashup by PC Best Mods when an actual "Kung Fury" skin was made for my main SF character Ryu in #StreetFighterV! I am still in this, and we are making it, but we are currently looking for a director. I remain extremely committed to this project, and look forward to bringing this to life for fans around the world.”  In case you missed the news, @BenAffleck stepped down from directorial duties for "The Batman", and I don't blame him for doing so. To act, write, produce, and direct such a film is an immense undertaking, and to have him sacrifice quality would just hurt the output of the movie. I'm all for this decision, and whoever takes over will still work with WB and Ben, w/ the latter now free to concentrate on playing The Bat on his solo flick.
