Brennan’s NPC game is always on point but he’s done such a fantastic job with Lady Aranessa.

Somehow she’s perfectly balancing the idea of “fine lady of a noble house of Fairie” with “the woman that would fall in love with war hero and known troublemaker Thjazi Fang” AND “just lost her whole family to a Games of Thrones-esque horror show betrayal ”.

Like yes she’s polite and kind, but she also bit a ghoul to free herself after watching a young man be brutally murdered five feet from her. She’s willing to jump off a cliff if a Druid meeting goes bad, but still mourns the opportunity to sleep in a big fancy bed. She can summon flower petals at will and then rubs them under her arms.

I’m obsessed with her. Thjazi Fang you were a LUCKY man.

imagine dying and then waking up to watch your old friend's annoying punkass kid having a threesome in a brothel. and you can't move and it's like did the sleep paralysis demon compare notes with the succubus, which would track with the situation except all the demons you know are indie artists or nuns. and then like two hours later you get to see a different old war buddy except the punk ass kid lets him go into the murdershop. and then another two hours later you get to see your wife and the first old friend, except, uh oh! maybe it's just me but i don't think occtis should intentionally kill any of his family members. i get the impulse to want him to get the kill on primus or ethrand for what they've done to him but i don't think killing his family is going to bring him catharsis or justice or peace in the same way it has for julien and likely will for kattigan. honestly, i think it has the capacity to make him so much worse and not in a way he can come back from. he doesn't want to be like his family, and killing his own family is a one-way ticket no take backs to being just like everyone else in his family

that being said i think kattigan and julien deserve to go all the way the fuck to town on primus in ways that challenge if they're capital G Good men. primus deserves to die screaming knowing he's lost everything and it's all his fault, i just don't think occtis should be the one to have to do that
