The way his shapely lips puckered out when he said 4 was extremely distracting. She blushed amd turned to the correct page.

Ugh..why couldn't he be ugly? She had enough distractions.

She paid attention and took notes. She thought back to what he had said about seeing a cat. What would he do if he found out it had been her? She had to be able to trust him.

“Yes, I hope to do amazing things here in your class.” She said. That was an understatement. She needed to do well and amazing things in his class.

“I wanted to ask a question, of I may?”

She widened her cat eyes..seeing him raise his wand. He could turn her into anything or even do a curse. She let out a pitiful mew amd lowered her tail and padded off.

She sat in the hall her tail swishing back and forth. If only there was a way to ..no bad idea.

The next morning she showed up on time. She always turned back into human form five am sharp.

But last night she had been locked out of her room. She had slept inside a statue and it had been uncomfortable.

She was exaughsted but awake.

“What’s the matter, Miss Rollands?” Severus asked. “You did not sleep?” He found it quite interesting that she claimed to be proficient in potions only did not care to get enough rest before class.

She shook her head. “Not well”

She couldn’t help her curse. But tired or not, she could still pay attention amd do well. She had to be sure to make it in her room in time tonight.

“Being a cat tends to do that” she mumbled and opened her book.

“What did you say about being a cat, Miss Rollands? Speak up so I may hear you. I did not quite catch that. Rather odd as I ran into a cat last night.”

She paled. Her eyes wide. "Uh..n-nothing. Sorry, um..a-anyways. Didn't you say page 234?" She asked as her cheeks turned a deep pink.

If she were ever going to break the curse on herself she had to know the stuff, the real thing.

Severus sighed. He did not see the message he wrote in his own advanced potions book as a boy. “Good, Miss Rollands. As such, you shall still be required to surpass my expectations.”

She nodded. When the class started she paid more attention to his directions than the book. She took notes as well.

That night after the curse had struck her as it did every night she padded the halls on fuzzy white paws, her long bushy cat tail straight up like an antenna. She roamed the empty halls. What else could she do in this state?

Severus saw the cat while patrolling for students out of bed that evening. What was the feline doing? “Get out of my way!” He sneered at the cat.

The cat meowed and stopped amd looked at him. She noted mentally. Doesn't like animals. Or cats..or was it both? She hated being stuck in this form. She didn't expect anyone out this late. She watched him walk off. Was he troubled or did he usually stay up this late?

She softly padded after him hoping to remain unseen.

She smiled a bit. "No, not at all, actually this is a very valid question. You see, I am a very intelligent person, I follow directions to the letter, if I make mistakes, which I do, I own up to them. Well..(she opens the book of potions that was standard for his class.) I have made many potions from this book following the directions AS they are written..not one have turned out right. I want to know why? This book is flawed, yea?" She was right of course, for some reason whoever wrote the book didn't write it right. @severustm

She looked down at her potions book. She had read it from front to back and not one potion in here had been the one she had needed. Well that is why she was here. She was determined to figure it out.

"I intend to learn as much as you will teach me" she told him seriously.

She also was skeptical about the potions book. Whoever wrote was either high or extremely ignorant. She had followed many to the letter and with bad results. She would focus on the Professors teachings..not the book. Severus probably knew this which was why in his book he had corrected a lot of the potions. Of course she knew nothing about it. She didn't even know he had a book that he had basically rewritten to his way of teaching.

She wondered why he was so, well not exactly mean, but pretty unfriendly, as most students probably immediately layed judgement down, she refused to. No one is born hateful or mean.
