God, I'm so tired. I really thought there was a chance of fixing things with my family, but I haven't spoken to them for 17 months, and as a system, we've been making so much progress without them. It just hits me every now and then, yknow? It hurts that they'll never care about me as much as I cared about them. How I desperately wanted their approval only to be met with resistance or, almost worse, apathy. I was just a burden to them. We always have been. It's true when they say nothing fills the gaping wound left by your parents not loving you. Our dad was alright, but he took their side a lot.
We even met someone who we thought was tailor made for us. He was kind, understanding, he got to know different alters, but we put him off because we're still learning to look after ourselves and our flat was too messy for him. It just fucking stings sometimes yknow I'm doing my best to move on but they'll always be a part of me and I hate it.

What's the first "big news story" you remember from when you were a kid?
It's something I love to ask mixed-aged groups sometimes because I think it's really interesting to see the responses. I've gotten answers from the Olympics of [whatever year] to Watergate to more recent stuff from my niblings.
My first news thing I remember is the OJ Simpson trial. I vaguely remember watching the news with my grandparents before that, but that's the first story I remember, in part because my second grade teacher had us go play so she could watch the verdict 😂

Whenever I see some anon asking an artist if it's "okay to take inspiration" from their art it makes me want to make some kind of manifesto or billboard or PSA or skywriting campaign to undo whatever damage strange litigious illustrator types inflicted upon the most basic foundations of the creative process. We can't let them get away with this
if you've never engaged with a creative art on a regular basis you need to understand that it requires concerted effort to get into "the groove" to make something and every second that it takes to get into that groove causes physical pain, but the only thing worse than doing it is not doing it.
