🍎🌾Stuffed Apples for Mabon🌾🍎
Happy Mabon my greenies! I’m so happy to bring this recipe for you to enjoy during this festive time. Like all my recipes, these can be used with or without a chant, you can create your own, or if you’re not a practitioner. I want to bring joy and comfort for this time of year. This is a recipe I used last year and decided to post it for y’all. I hope you enjoy!
Ingredients
5 Apples (I use honeycrisp)
1 tsp cornstarch
1 tsp lemon juice
2 tbsp granulated sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
Pinch of sea salt
Pinch ground nutmeg
Dash of vanilla
For Topping
¼ cup all purpose flour
¼ cup brown sugar
¼ cup old fashioned oats
¼ tsp baking powder
1 tsp ground cinnamon
Pinch sea salt
3 tbsp unsalted butter
Directions
First cut off the tops of the apples and core them. Make sure you spoon out the insides and save them. (Also save all peels to use as offerings or compost) Use the inside of the apple and cut into small ¼ inch chunks.
Mix together the apple chunks, cornstarch, lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and vanilla. Put into the apple and make sure you leave a little space for the crumble topping. While mixing these ingredients, think on all you’re thankful for and fill the apples with love and hope.
Cut up the butter into little pieces and put some inside the apple. Then mix together the flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt and place on top of the apple. While mixing, you can say the chant below or your own. Use the rest of the butter to sprinkle on top of the apples.
Preheat ovan at 375 degrees F and place apples onto a covered baking sheet. Cover the tops of the apples with foil and bake for 15 min and the uncover and bake for 20. Wait at least 10 minutes before eating and enjoy with some ice cream.
Chant: While fog may cast in front of my eyes, the breeze of fall trails with browning leaves. A warm hand on my back and wisp of hair, let my future shine. Let my love rejoice and my mind rest with ease. My life, my hope, my dream.
Once again my lovelies, happy Mabon to you and your loved ones. I hope that with the shifting of seasons, brings change to our society.
With all my love,
Kenzie

Treat!
In honor of the full moon tonight- here are some witchy things to do!
Full Moon Witchy Activities:
Put out water, juice, or liquor to be charged (in sealed containers ideally). Moon charged juice and liquor is excellent for holiday cocktails!
Divination: Tarot, runes, scrying, shufflemancy, whatever you feel! It’s especially a good time to test out a new divination style you’ve been thinking about.
Bake full moon cookies! You can either focus on mixing and baking during the full moon (mix your dough near a window or outside) or bake before the sun goes down and leave the cookies to cool and charge near a window!
Collect autumn leaves and seedlings under the full moon. Use for Samhain wishes.
Set crystals or tools out to charge on a windowsill or porch.
Bring your spirit working tools outside (skulls, bones, memento moris, powders/oils, pendulums, spirit boards, cards, etc.) and work on your spirit communication during the height of the full moon.
Tend to your garden area during the full moon (depending on the season; weeding, planting, harvesting, fertilizing, etc.)
Craft a new tool like a wand, broom, witch’s ladder, scrying mirror, etc.
Reinforce/renew your wards and property protections.
Channel full moon energy for writing, drawing, sculpting, sewing, knitting, composing, etc.
Make a cup of tea or hot chocolate and step outside or near a window with it while it cools. Offer it to the moon for charging with prosperity and health. Drink it slowly.
Enjoy the moon. Treasure the moon. Thank the moon. Love the moon. The moon knows you are a fantastic witch regardless of what others (even youself) think. The moon loves you.
Tip for Older / More Experienced Witches and Magical Folx: Have a will and plan of action for your magical items for after you cross over and pass on. Your magical and energy filled items are ALIVE. When you cross over, they remain alive for a very very very long time. How many "cursed" items in the world are just magical tools that haven't been fostered out properly after their creators are gone? Remember your magical friends may not be able to "handle" your stuff. Perhaps that haunted (insert item here) is simply mourning the loss of the one that created it or encouraged it to grow. The tools and items need to know that they won't be left alone or misused for eternity.
Garden witches, green witches, healers and anyone who uses herbs in their practice...
This is a really good, comprehensive list of edible flowers. It has a vivid description each plant’s taste and how to use and harvest as well as including which parts of the plant are inedible (x)
Here’s a great free ebook on cooking, brewing and blending herbs (x)
This website has fantastic gardening advice. Just search for a plant and it will tell you how to grow it, what grows indoors, pest, solutions, trivia and much, much more. (x) And it even has an edible gardening section (x) plus an indoor section if you don’t have a garden (x)
If you have any other resources, feel free to add them to this list.
Respecting closed deities and entities is never about saying the deities/entities are limited. It’s about RESPECTING OTHER HUMAN BEINGS.
!!!
This!
Just because it’s a spiritual path doesn’t mean the spiritual realm is the only thing that you need to consider when choosing it!
We live in a real, societal, communal world where we are responsible for we impact other humans.
Respecting closed religions/practices/deities is never because there’s some spiritual boundary around it, it’s about being a decent human.
It’s also about spiritual boundaries.
Trying to engage in closed practices, especially with deities or spirits that aren’t yours to be in contact with can and will harm you.
The best possible result is that whatever you’re trying to do doesn’t work.
The more likely result is that you wind up in serious danger, or badly harmed by whatever it is you’re trying to do.
Closed practices are usually closed for a reason. Barging in and trying to connect with a spiritual practice you have no business connecting with is not a safe choice at all.
Those deities and spirits do not want to know you or to hear from you. And they are far better left alone.
The people to whom those practices belong are equally if not more important. Respecting people’s boundaries is paramount, and being a decent person is vital here.
But yeah. There’s a spiritual boundary as much as there is an ethical/ human boundary. Crossing either is a terrible decision, and one that will cause you a lot of grief.
Thank you! You’re right, I should refrain from saying ‘never’ in situations like this ☺️
I suppose what I most wanted to get across is that even if there is no spiritual boundary (or not one that you know of) the human ethical boundary still takes priority. I worded it clumsily and not very exactly to my meaning, so thanks for adding to it!
A friendly reminder: go drink some water, and make sure your plants aren’t thirsty either 🌱
