Hello Everyone! At the beginning of 2017 I realized that I have barely nine more months until I am an adult. That is terrifying to me, and I definitely do not think I have lived enough in my teenage years yet. This is why I started this blog, I wanted to document adventures I took (no matter how simple)! I hope to hear from all of you; whether you have questions or stories of how you decided to truly live your life!
Hello, I have not written in about a month but that does not mean I am gone! I have decided to start a new blog on another blogging site. The blog will have the same general basis and I will update more because I feel more professional. To find my new blog you can copy and paste in this link:
Hello everyone! It is the end of my first work week of summer. I went to the gym and exercised on the elliptical for 40 minutes and stretched before and after both Monday and Wednesday. Then I went to multiple coffee shops throughout the week and researched for my biology essay and extended essay. I had a meeting at school going over my progress for Senior year. As most people know it is Pride month, and this weekend is Boise’s Pride festival. Last night my friends and I, who are going to Pride, tie dyed shirts with rainbow colors. I made two shirts, one for me and one for a friend who could not make it to the tie dye party. I will be wearing my overalls and tie dye! Also, we meet early tomorrow to do makeup and hair for the big day! Also, I made (from scratch) vegan muffins! I was craving sweets and was surprised at how easy it was to bake something that was this good! By being vegan I have to cook more. This is a great life skill, especially since it is less expensive to cook than eat out. Surprisingly, I actually enjoy making these foods! I will post next week with photos of pride and other life activities. And before I go, I would like to announce very special news! I got tickets to the Harry Styles concert! It is in Canada next July! This is very exciting for me, one: because I love his music, and two: because that will be only a month and a half before I start college. It has been an exciting and lively week, I hope all of yours was the same!
Since I last posted on here a few things have happened, but nothing big which is quite relaxing and honestly relieving. First, season five of Orange is the New Black came out. I have only seen the first 9 episodes because I was interrupted late Friday and have had no time sense to complete the last four episodes. Another thing is I purchased overall shorts. Photos will be posted soon, but I have been wanting overalls that are shorts ever since I found a lot of cute Pinterest outfits with them! Lastly, tonight my mom and I had to pick up my cousin from the air port. We arrived about an hour early so we could people watch. Around 20 minutes before my cousin arrived this man brought out a sign proposing to his girlfriend. I posted the video here because I have never witnessed something so compassionate. I have never seen any two people connect in such a way they did, and I think that part of the romance was seeing it in person. I will post soon, I have a lot going on this week but also a lot of fun! Thank you for reading!
I have not written on here for so long, especially not a long commentary. I am happy to have time to invest on this this blog. I was planning on writing this up yesterday, however, I had to leave early in the morning to take my cousin to the airport. Who is now living with my parents and me until November. Then, after that, I had to go get a replacement license since mine was stolen. I then took myself on a coffee date downtown while I waited for my mom to finish up at work. And lastly, my mom and I watched the Bachelorette at her bosses house with other people from work.
So this is why I was unable to post on the first day of summer break.
I am officially a Senior at my high school. This means I have less than a year till I graduate. I have about 10 months until I have committed to a college and even less than that until I will receive my acceptance letters. I only have four more months of being a minor. These are the reasons as to why I want to have an amazing, fun-filled summer which is also productive.
As the last week of school was wrapping up I had some free time in classes after my finals. So, I made a big schedule/calendar for the entire summer. I was sure to include one week of free time at the beginning and end of summer. In between, I have a day specified for each project, some days have two assignments since they will be smaller. I will not post the entire calendar on here, but this is my to-do list:
Write rough draft of my Extended Essay
Math packet
Rough Draft of my Biology IA (research paper)
Art project/visit art event
Write Arabic paper/compile vocabulary
These are just projects for school, but I also need to work on the Common App for college, study for ACT/SAT, and read a lot books. I keep saying that this is a lot to do over summer, but it is much less than if I wait to do them fall semester of the school year.
Here are some pictures I have already taken this summer:
This is Missy, she is my cousins dog. It is great to have more animals in the house than usual, especially a young dog that spreads some of her energy to my old dog.
This was my coffee date yesterday afternoon. I bought an almond milk latte (still doing the vegan thing) at Alia’s, a local coffeehouse. I bought this book, The Vagina Monologues by Eve Ensler, a few months ago but I am barely getting to reading it. I have a long list of summer book that I am ecstatic to read. I walked over to Capital Park and sat at this table, which if you look really close, you can see someone painted little flowers on the bolt between my coffee and book. This was the only painted bolt on the table and I thought it had a great, simplistic beauty.
And this was the drive home last night. It was about 9:20 and the sunset always looks stunning here.
I have not posted in so long but I just created this little list of (achievable) future goals for myself. I loved working on it and will always cherish these things!
Hello, I have not written lately because I have had a lot happening with school and my personal life. Thankfully we only have about 3 weeks left of school, I am looking forward to warm temperatures and being out in the sun. Also, since this is my last summer in high school and as a minor I hope it will be more fun and eventful than previous years. Also, my boyfriend and I had broken up but I am really happy that we are still friends. I understand that it is bizarre we get along so well but with a class of 168 it is really difficult to not be nice toward each other. Especially since one of the classes I have with him will only have three seniors next year. As for the images I have attached the top two are from the 1975 concert I went to on May 3rd and the other is my little garden. The concert was probably one of the best I have ever been to, that may have been because we were only ten people from the stage or that I was with friends. Also, it was really long, they played a lot of songs and every song had its own little light show which was very aesthetically pleasing. The garden I created also has five herbs but those are not pictured here. I have never had a garden and when I do have plants I end up killing them on accident. I am really excited about these because I feel dedicated to taking care of them since they make the house look so much happier. Also, the herbs are really easy to move so during the colder months we can just bring them inside. Lastly, on May 1st a few of my friends and I decided to try to be vegan. I have really enjoyed it, and while because of an event I went to I have had animal products, I haven't had any meat. Shockingly, I haven't missed eating meat. Also, I am overall eating healthier and more food and feeling more energized than I had before.
Late night journaling about my thoughts and struggles is far more relaxing than one may think. Especially when you have warm tea and a cat by your side you can get anything done.
On the top I have a drip coffee maker I just purchased this week. I put about two tablespoons of coffee in the filter and slowly pour hot water over it. I like this one because it happens right in my coffee mug. The other top one is my espresso maker. Which I fill the bottom half with water and a little carrier has the coffee grounds. I set this right on the stove and the coffee bubbles up to the top. The next coffee maker down the list is my french press. This one, much like the drip coffee, I put two tablespoons and hot water in the glass. It sits for about two to four minutes and then I press down the plunger and pour it into a cup. Lastly is my Ninja Coffee Bar. This my family’s everyday coffee maker but it is much better than our old Mr. Coffee one.
So these are my coffee makers, I love them and I enjoy making numerous types of coffee. Soon I plan on doing a coffee tasting and I will update all my readers with the results.
My last day of leadership Boise academy, and I can say I will miss these people. I had so much fun learning about media, business, government, and the justice system. Also we helped out at a great organization, the arc, that provides lifestyle education for adults with disabilities. I usually do not join groups like this, but I went through an interview process and was one of 50 people picked out of 140 original applicants. I decided to participate because I needed to open up my life to much more. It was difficult for me to go every month and not know if anyone was going to converse with me. But, I feel like I have gained social skills I hadn't acquired before.
The Boise co-op is a great place to get good healthy food and not too expensive. It’s way less expensive than Whole Foods and more local (10x better). I had a lavender theme: lavender soda and lavender cheesecake. The beet tabouleh was amazing and the sushi had mango and carrots in it as well as salmon. The book you see in the back I just received from Powell's in Portland. It is Orlando by Virginia Woolf and a biography about a woman she had a relationship. Nights with a good book and fresh food makes me appreciate spring and my life.
I totally forgot to post these! Boston is beautiful. I cannot help but imagine myself there for college. Boston College is my top pick, it is a catholic/Jesuit school but I do not have to be catholic to go there. I simply would take two theology courses that range from Catholicism to spiritual art. Connecticut is gorgeous as well, but Yale was the place I may have felt the least safe. Ever. And it just did not feel like "home". Boston felt like a super sized Boise. Next, prom! Which was the simplest event I have ever gone to. The second dress I tried on: I bought. The first shoes: I bought. The first hair style and make up: worked. It was far too easy. But it was an amazing night with great friends and my boyfriend. The last few weeks have been wonderful, and the next few weekends I am volunteering every Saturday. I am looking forward to all these new experiences.
I just deleted this post!!! Ugh okay so anyway, this was me trying a diy scar remover. It was made of equal parts: organic honey, fresh lemon juice, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg. I then rubbed the paste on trouble areas. It stung at first and made my skin burn a little but not bad. Then I washed off the solution with warm water and put on moisturizer. These photos were taken about 30 minutes apart (once the redness went down) and I am really impressed. I would recommend this to anyone and I am definitely going to do it again!
This mask is amazing! It makes your skin so soft and yes it does heat up when you rub it in. My mom and I did them together, and one pack covered both of us. But you could use one entirely for one person and have a thicker coverage. Also, has anyone seen Beauty and the Beast? Because it is the most beautiful and amazing Disney movie I have ever seen! If you liked Belle and the Beast in a cartoon form then you will love this even more! Go see it if you need a day to escape, 10/10 would recommend.
Hello everyone. Last week, I was hoping by now that I would have completed my second “Mini Goals”...but I did not. School hit me, hardcore, so I needed more caffeine!
I honestly had three of these last week, and two in the same day. Part of my Mini Goal was to have no coffee. Second, I never went grocery shopping so the only food I had was not healthy. And third, I just needed one less thing to think about.
This weekend was good for me, Idaho right now is experiencing a Pre-Spring-heat-wave-miracle. I sat outside and studied with the puppy in shorts and a tank top to get some sun.
I do not think I have ever been more excited for it to be fifty-six degrees! Anyway, this week is supposed to almost hit seventy, so no matter what happens it cannot be too bad.
Also, this week I am more prepared. I got healthy food, fruits and veggies, and even some face masks that I cannot wait to try!
Thank God for Ulta gift cards! Tomorrow I am starting my healthy skin diet! I will probably track what I tended to eat and then talk about it at the end of three or so days...also, I will let everyone know how I thought the masks worked!
Thank you for reading...or looking at the photos! If you have any questions or things to let me know, just message me!
A little sneak peak of my prom dress! I have fallen in love with this color, every new item I get it seems like has this color... Anyway, there will be prom photos to come eventually. The dress and shoes are done, now I just need to figure out hair and makeup!!! Since I am a junior this will be the first year I can go to prom and I know that next year is the "big" year where everything is much more important. Nonetheless, I feel quite important with this whole event any ways...
