To the guy,

You may know me and see me as your friend (and your friend’s crush). But I have kept my feelings for you… Yes dear! During those times we chatted, I was not aware that I am slowly falling in love.

The day when we first met, you had already captured my heart. You did not catch me. I fell hard to reality. You are already in love to someone else. No, not just in love but completely committed and waiting for the day you will be with her. She is amazing, beautiful, smart and religious. And I am just someone that does not deserve any love.

We barely see each other at school but my heart leaps whenever my eagle eyes see you. By the way, thank you for being there always every time I need you. Someday, I will find a guy like you.

To the girl that the guy loves,

You are one lucky girl to have him. Take care of him and never hurt him for me. I did not confess my feelings to him because I respect whatever is going on to the two of you. And I am ready to forget him.

Have you wondered how does soap cleanses? Let me share you this idea I learned from my professor.

Hard water (a water which contains ions such as Magnesium, Calcium, and Iron) shouldn’t be used. It is because it decreases the efficacy of the soap. Here’s a chemical equation to support this statement:

2CH3(CH2)16COONa + CaCl2 –> [CH3(CH2)16COO]2Ca +NaCl

As you can see, the calcium, which is present in the water, will replace the sodium. Any changes in the chemical structure of soap decreases its function. And it is one of the reason for the presence of dandruff in the case of shampoo and hard water.

So, a soap molecule contains: a polar head which will be attracted to the water molecules, and a nonpolar tail which will be attracted to the dirt. There must be a formation of micelle (structure formed when both parts of soap molecule is attracted to corresponding molecule) before you can say that the area is clean. The soap should be thoroughly rubbed to the area. When you rinse off, the polar head will be attracted to the water.

The Difference Between Cologne and Perfume

Some of us cannot leave the house without smelling good. It is one way of attracting people to socialize with us. We don’t want others to stay away from us just because you don’t smell good.

Both cologne and perfume give a scent to the one who uses it. But, do you know their difference? According to my professor in Organic Chemistry, a perfume will last longer while a cologne will only last for an hour. In terms of price, cologne is cheaper than perfume. Perfumes create layered fragrance in which it may change throughout the day. While most of the cologne is made for single aroma.

Muscone (which is extracted to the musk glands of the male musk deer) gives a musky aroma to perfumes. A little drop of these chemicals can produce a long-lasting aroma.
