Today I'm going to review the Krooztune.com R3 lift kit. Before and after pictures are included. To start, we went with Kroozetune over the competitors because it lowers BOTH the front and rear of the bike. This gave us the best chance at retaining the stock geometry, so the bike drives relatively close to stock. Overall, we're very impressed with the kit. The bike went from intimidating to comfortable for Ms. Squid. We understand people generally are against lowering bikes but as you can see in the pictures (the first 2 are after drop), that Ms. Squid could BARELY even tip toe the R3. Now after the lowering kit she can comfortably place the ball of her feet on the ground giving her the balance she craves to feel comfortable. The bike drives relatively close to stock, you can def tell the bike has changed a little but for a beginner it's most likely NOT noticable at all in terms of drive ability. My ONLY complaint is the kickstand is ASS. The idea is you cut your kickstand off and place the Kroozetune one inside of yours, mess with a internal bolt that makes theirs expand inside yours. Ours simply didn't do that and we ended up JB welding it in there. Add that to the fact that you lose the peg coming off your kickstand, so it's now almost IMPOSSIBLE to find your kickstand under the peg. So we will be using the stock one and a welding machine here in a week or so. The install: FUN. Don't attempt unless you plan to take forks off yourself (requires front and rear stands), and also compressing the rear spring to remove it off the stock to build the shock they sent you. Leave it to the professionals or set a few days aside! 8/10 would buy again.
