I miss holding his biceps so I’m gonna build my own and hold and admire them 🙏
I’ll be fine I’ll be fine I’ll be fine I’ll be fine I’ll be fine I’ll be fine I’ll be fine
The fastest way to accomplish The Project is to cease being afraid of The Project. The Project cannot maim you. The Project cannot kill you. The Project is more afraid of you than you are of it. It is okay if The Project turns out differently from how it was in your head, and it is okay if it has flaws. You are capable of engaging with The Project.
note to self for the rest of summer (and forever) 1. buy beautiful flowers every week 2. take photos of beautiful moments 3. read every morning and evening, stack the books you have read into piles against the walls 4. write every day, no matter what it is 5. meditate in the mornings 6. be compassionate and patient with yourself, do frequent small things that make you happy 7. remind yourself of what you need to do every day to show up and live the life you have always wished you were living
my myself and I live here ♡
hate your life? make a whole new one. sitting in my apartment reflecting how everything i’m doing would sound insane to me 6 months ago. I’m obsessed with reinventing myself
Ughhh i know film photography is expensive and it is expensive but it brings me so much fucking joy. Photographing my loved ones on a camera without being able to see the immediate outcome really does something to me.
here's a secret: whatever you're doing, you have to root for your peers with all your heart because it forces you to root for yourself too. I've seen people in various spheres of my life (workplaces, education, art, activism) fall into the trap of envy and resentment when they see others succeed while they struggle, and it always always goes hand in hand with them pulling back and giving up and stagnating.
when you let yourself get sour grapes about shit, you tacitly give up on yourself. when you sit around hoping other people will flop and fail so you can catch up to them, you stop trying. it's a fantasy of mediocrity, the vain wish that other people would walk so you could take the gold medal at a jog. wouldn't you rather come last place at 27mph?
You really have to know on a deep internal level when to push forward regardless of what happened and when to slow down and reflect. I think this is why I’m obsessive with body movement. How lucky are we that we do not need to process everything in the mind? Hot yoga for example, is a metaphor for truth to me. When I lean into the fire whether in my body or in my mind, I discover a truth that is always shifting, always merging, but so long as I keep its essence in my line of sight, its shifting does not cause me harm.
I love treating each stage of my life with care and respect even if I don’t like it at the time. So I can look back later and know I didn’t take it for granted. And refusing to be jealous of where others are at. It’s a self-respect thing
once you stop fantasizing about that ideal version of yourself and start working towards becoming that person by setting your alarm clock earlier and actually going to the gym and actually volunteering at places and actually eating healthier and not procrastinating and working just a little bit harder you’ll realize that it was so easy all along. becoming your ideal self will only ever exist in your mind until you make the decision to work towards becoming that person. get up!! get going!! it’s now or never!! there is no light at the end of the tunnel!! get that flashlight and pave your own path bitch bc no one else is going to do it for u!!
This period of my life is awesome and cool and amazing. I’m working out w sexy men and walking the streets of my city w them while talking about things that make us realize we will never be a good “thing”
Are you afraid of monogamy
I’m afraid that the partner you choose defines your life in a way that almost nothing else can. I’m afraid that’s very profound. I’m afraid it doesn’t have to be that way. I’m afraid of polyamorous dogma as a symptom of capitalist appetite. I’m afraid none of this matters when you’re in love.
“Do it scared” “do it alone” are all great tips, but my biggest takeaway from therapy is do it messy. This is especially true if you’re getting out of a burnout, which I experience often. Literally just do it messy. You don’t need to pick the perfect trail to walk, the perfect playlist to listen to, whatever the fuck it is. You don’t need to have a meticulous to do list and wake up at the exact time you planned and drink the exact amount of water you planned to drink. Like the biggest thing for people like me to remember is sometimes it’s okay to do it messy. Put on a random yt workout and just get it done in sweats. Do 5 minutes of a daunting task and go from there. Sometimes just getting up is a win during intense burnouts or depressive funks. Literally just do it messy.
