I will not tolerate hateful or abusive language or imagery being used by other muns (aka in real life/out of character). I'm here, I'm queer, and I'm not about that bullshit. Please please please always remember that you have every right to say "no," and you're always welcome to tell me if I said or did something that made you uncomfortable or upset. This is for fun, and should be fun! Even if I just gave you a reply that you find difficult to work with, you can tell me and I'll rewrite it: sometimes my muse has off days, and that's okay.

Also, you can always ask me to tag things that make you uncomfortable. I largely avoid triggering topics, but if it does come up on my blog it will always be tagged with "____ cw" for blacklisting.

Just because you know something doesn't mean your muse does!

✧ Multiples, Shipping, and Other Fandoms

On this blog, I will only roleplay with characters who are from Dragon Age or have a Dragon Age AU.

Thilfonir may flirt with other characters: that does not mean I am trying to push a ship onto you, that's just Thilly! Feel free to have your character react however you'd like.

I will interact with multiples of canon characters, and each has their own AU; do not be afraid to approach me even if I'm already interacting with someone else who plays your muse.

This is a multi-ship blog! Every ship will happen in its own AU, and is based entirely on chemistry. Thilfonir may fall for your character right away, after a long while, or not at all.

Thilfonir's canon romance is Josephine. But if you play a Josie and you do NOT want to ship her and Thilly, that's okay and I will not push it onto you!

✧ Lore and My Stage of the Game

Please note that I have only played Dragon Age: Inquisition and may not understand all references to other Dragon Age games!

I have completed the full base game and all of its accompanying DLCs!

I try very hard to stick to canon lore. I will constantly look things up on the Wiki and try to make my writing as accurate to the game's world as possible, but not everything Thilfonir thinks or says will match that. He may be ignorant of or misinformed about things.

I will not expect you to follow lore as closely as I do. I don't want to put this pressure on people. Unless you're totally off the wall and not making sense, I will not correct you on stuff unless you specifically say you want me to.

If something in my writing is inaccurate to canon (aside from stuff Thilfonir says or thinks in ignorance), please tell me. I love the lore and I want to stick to it!

✧ Formatting and Post Length

I prefer (and default to) paragraphs, but will also accept one-line banter and "texting" writing formats if asked.

I do not use text formatting beyond basics (small, bold, italics, etc.): if you would like to format my posts to match your blog, go ahead! Just please don't go too terribly tiny, as I don't always see very well.

I tend to try and match my partner's post length, but I do not expect you to do the same!

There was a capelet as part of Alistair's uniform for the night, and while he absolutely hated the thing it played very little part in his motivation to swing it off himself and offer it to Thilfonir to cover the wetness.

"They want you to hear it," he replied, his tone growing more serious and quieter, as though he'd experienced enough of it himself. Truth was, he had since becoming King and enduring the many not-so-quiet criticisms of his ruling style. "Saying it close enough that you can hear it but not close enough that you can engage without looking like you were eavesdropping."

He sighed. "I supposed it's because they think you'll change if you hear them. But I find it much easier to think up something stupid that they do instead and try to ignore them."

He accepts the offered capelet with a quiet murmur of thanks, slinging it over his shoulder to get it settled comfortably. It would do: couldn't exactly go about shirtless, here, as much as he wanted to get the wine-wettened garment off of him entirely.

He listens to Alistair's perspective, before echoing his sigh.

"I'm not sure what they expect to change. I will never stop being the 'elf savage,' to them, no matter what I wear or how I speak. They can't see past my ears and Vallaslin. They don't want to."

A huff. His expression darkens, briefly.

"They can spit 'rabbit' and 'knife-ear' until their tongues fall off, but the only way that'll change is if someone docks them. And they'd have to kill me before I'd let anyone try."

He lets the comment hang in the air for a moment, before his expression relaxes back into something softer: something... resigned, almost. Perhaps even a little sad.

"...But I guess that's the point, then, isn't it? That it's not going to change. They just want me to know that I'll always be beneath them."

The Inquisition was so much more than Lancelot could have ever expected it to be. It was grander and more important than anything he'd ever been a part of before. And at the center of it all stood the Inquisitor himself, larger than life and said to be divine. 

But when Lancelot looked at him, he didn't see a god or a Herald. He saw a man struggling under the weight of a momentous burden. Perhaps that was why Lancelot thought to speak up, to question how much the Inquisitor could withstand. It wasn't meant as a slight, but as a genuine question born from concern. 

Lancelot nodded when he received his answer. “I suppose that's reasonable,” he said in his soft voice. “It can't be easy, being in charge of so much.” He waved his hand vaguely through the air as though gesturing to the Inquisition as a whole. 

“I can't imagine what it must be like to be in your position.” He didn't know why he was still talking, still reaching out for some sort of connection. Perhaps it was foolish, but he truly just wanted to be supportive. “If you ever have need of…” Of what? Companionship? Comfort? Lancelot was likely just a nameless face to the great Inquisitor. Thilfonir had his own inner circle, his own friends, he didn't need someone like Lancelot sticking his nose into his business. 

He bowed his head. “Apologies. I just meant— You seem tired.” He winced at his own words, hating how judgemental they sounded.

Thilfonir chuckles; soft and airy, largely lacking in genuine humour. It is a weary sound, more than anything.

"Is it that obvious?" he asks, with a faint smile that doesn't reach his eyes. He doesn't seem offended in the slightest. If anything, his shoulders drop a bit of their tension; a mask slipping, just a little.

Most people never even noticed: or if they did, they pretended not to. He was The Inquisitor, the legendary Herald of Andraste, touched by the Maker's hand. He was tamer of the mage rebellion, slayer of dragons, bane of demons; mighty, bold, and brave. No one really wanted to acknowledge the truth, because the truth didn't fit the story they needed to believe in.

And the truth was, despite all that had happened, he was still just a man.

"Forgive me- I'm realising I don't know your name."

"I should hope not. You'd be a terrible Inquisitor," Thilfonir scoffs, the slightest hint of a smirk tugging at one corner of his lips that suggests he's teasing- at least partially. It vanishes quickly, though, there and gone again in a blink as he straightens up from where he'd been leaning over the war table.

"...Though I can't say I envy your position, either."

"He can die for all I care," she snarled.

Jalon could feel the magic at her fingertips, Hope stirring in the back of her mind at the sight of the Templar who started this mess, who ruined her life. She couldn't decide if she wanted to zap him or kick him.

Damn the Maker that he wasn't a Red one like the others! It would have made this so much easier; she could kill him and get it over with.

Did she heal him and show mercy, or did she let him lie there die slowly?

She was not feeling her usual charitable self. And their confusion of the situation was just pissing her off.

"Ugh! You decide his fate," she snapped, pacing back and forth beside the Templar. She hated Dresden! Fuck!

Thilfonir's expression was cold. He regards the fallen, bleeding Templar with the same level of detached, vague disgust that one might regard a scrap of rotten fruit left on the side of a road. It was a look that Jalon had never seen from him before. Thus far, all the prisoners that the Inquisition had taken, he'd retained at least some degree of sympathy for; however slight that sympathy might be. But this time? There was nothing behind his eyes to suggest anything even close.

He was silent, at first, as he waited for her to make a decision regarding the man's fate. The Inquisitor was usually one to decry such violence, no matter how deserved it may be: but here, he had thus far made no attempt to intervene on the Templar's behalf. If Dresden dared to look to him for help, he would find none. If he made any attempt to move- to rise, to reach out, to crawl away- Thilfonir simply raised his staff to hold its blade threateningly close to his throat in silent warning.

With Jalon too frazzled to make a choice one way or the other, it was only a matter of time before the Inquisition's soldiers caught up to the scene. And as the heavy footfalls of his forces arrived, he finally spoke; his voice so icy, it was a wonder that there wasn't frost on his lips.

"Seize him."
