For as boisterous and mouthy as Nero is, he seems pretty reserved around you. Maybe he just doesn't want to be loud around you, maybe you calm him down.

Nico's noticed, and she absolutely teases him about how "soft" he is around you. He can't help it, though; you're a soothing person to be around, even if you're prone to keeping to yourself.

Likewise, he makes you feel safe to be yourself, and with that comes a bit of a confidence boost. While you're still on the quiet side, you speak more often, and Nero's heart swells when he notices.

You may be inexperienced in a lot of things, but Nero is glad to help you learn things, and as a young adult, he's still got a lot to learn himself. It's a journey, and you're both glad to have each other for it.

Dante

Dante thinks you're very cute. Insanely so. Trust me, he'll tell you this all the time, so get used to hearing it.

You may be quiet, but he certainly isn't. He could talk your ear off if you'd let him, and you do. You like the sound of his voice, and it sounds like he does, too.

But when you do speak, he's never been so attentive in his life. Your voice is absolutely music to his ears. He would never force you outside of your comfort zone, but he doesn't have to. Eventually, you feel comfortable enough with him to tiptoe out of your comfort zone on your own.

Dante knows a lot about a lot of things. Whether he uses that knowledge himself is a different story, but he's more than happy to help you with whatever you wanna know yourself.

V

It seems V sees something of a kindred spirit in you, to some extent. While he wouldn't describe himself as shy, he's definitely more on the withdrawn and quiet side.

And being around Nero and Dante, two loud guys, it's comforting to be with someone like you, and a breath of fresh air. Quiet moments and silence aren't awkward at all, and they feel intimate in a way, even if both of you are just doing your own thing.

You two just seem to fit together well, like puzzle pieces who finally found their interlocking piece. It's a wonderful environment for nurturing feelings and intimacy and general comfort over a long time. The shyness is still present around others, but with V? It seems to melt away.

V isn't the most well-versed in how the world works. He knows tons of poetry and literature and demonology, but in social and practical matters? He's still learning. And having you there learning with him is a relief, and the feeling is mutual.

Vergil

It takes Vergil a bit to adjust to the shy, quiet person you are. He's got a harsh exterior and all he's known is fighting for survival for years and years, so he's forgotten how he used to be rather introverted himself.

But he doesn't necessarily dislike it. Not at all. The more he's around you, the more protective he gets, in a way. You're someone he can use his strength to protect if you don't have much of it yourself.

Bit by bit, you both begin to open up to each other. Vergil's reticent nature and your withdrawn personality work together (albeit very slowly) to create a safe space for you both, even if the moments of openness tend to be rare. They're valued by both of you nonetheless.

Vergil is similar to V in that he isn't incredibly proficient in matters that aren't killing demons, as he's spent a ton of time... not being in the human world or otherwise not around people and society, so he isn't much help in areas that you aren't experienced in, unless you wanna know what sword slash can do in a demon in one go. But if you're with him, perhaps he'll take the time to adjust to human life.

Leave it to Nero to be able to keep you on your toes. His impulsivity often translates to spontaneity in the bedroom, and it's never a dull moment with him, whether he's got you beneath him or you're the one on top.

And please, don’t feel like you need to apologize for requesting this! It’s something very personal to you, and I don’t mind writing for it at all! It might help anyone else going through anything like this and I can relate to this one as well.

Nero

Nero himself hasn’t been in times quite that dark before, but he knows that it’s definitely not something that he would wish upon anyone. And especially not you.

Once he learns about this, he tries not to be overbearing about it. He knows that your anxiety and suicidal thoughts don’t define you, but it’s something that you struggle with. He worries about you, he really does.

You might not guess from his headstrong and impulsive nature, but he’s actually incredibly attentive when it comes to your mental health and what affects it. He knows that he can’t prevent these things from happening sometimes, but if he can, he does. He knows what can make your anxiety worse, what can cause you to become upset, and what can calm you down. All of this, he’s learned through watching and trial-and-error when he’s attempted to help you before.

He knows you can’t control these things. No one really can. He does what he can when he can to help you.

Dante

Unlike Nero, Dante can actually relate to some of the things you struggle with. When he was younger, sure, he was selfless, but the risk very often outweighed the reward; he was too reckless. It was deadly. It was destructive. It was fueled by self-hatred.

So when he picks up on your struggles, he proceeds with an almost surprising amount of tact. He’s not so direct that it makes you uncomfortable or puts you on the spot, and he’s not so roundabout that you second guess if he really knows what you’re going through or if he even really cares. He makes you aware right off the bat that he cares about you.

Again, “aware of mental health” isn’t the first on the list of things you think about when you think about the carefree and sometimes flippant Dante. But he knows what mental illness looks like. He picks up on your triggers pretty quick, and he notices the signs that it’s getting bad again. If he can remove you from situations that could cause a panic attack, he’ll do so, and he’s very good at it. In terms of comfort, he’s not the best, but by god, he tries his best, which brings some comfort in and of itself.

He would never blame you for anything you do because of your mental illness. Things are hard. Sometimes they’re harder than we can handle. And if he can help take some of the weight off of you, he would do so without hesitation.

V

V is the most in touch with his emotions and feelings out of all of the men here. Because of this, he’s a bit more empathetic as well (Nero coming in a close second.) His main struggle is death anxiety, but he’s no stranger to other thoughts such as hopelessness.

Having you open up to him about what you’re going through is not something he takes lightly. He knows it’s hard to open up (since if he can avoid doing it, he will.) But get ready for some questions. Not necessarily about your history, just something he can use to help: do you have any triggers, what helps you calm down, what can he do, etc.

Over time, not only does he internalize what you’ve told him, but he picks up on things himself that even you might not have been aware of. He’s very observant, after all. Things that might be small, like a minor change in your speaking habits, an unusual body language cue, or similar shifts in your demeanor, don’t go unnoticed, and he goes on alert. If the environment or situation causing you stress can be changed, he will make the situation better if he can. He’s very good at helping you ground yourself and calm down if needed. His presence is soothing and he knows what works best for you when you’re having an attack.

V is well aware that we can’t control every aspect of our lives. We can make things easier, but that doesn’t mean every problem will go away forever. And he’ll be there with you for all the ups and downs.

Vergil

Vergil’s solution to any of his mental issues is to ignore or outright repress them. He’s got everything bottled up, and if he has a say in it, it’ll stay that way. Of course, that doesn’t mean negative self-talk doesn’t pop up.

That said, he’s a bit dense when it comes to learning about your personal struggles. He doesn’t catch on quickly, and when he does, he doesn’t know what to do about it and might seem a bit neglectful of it. It’s not on purpose, and he isn’t mean about it. He’s so used to pushing down negative thoughts and ignoring them that when someone else has them cropping up, he doesn’t have any other methods.

Despite this, he doesn’t ignore you or leave you alone when you’re suffering. He stays with you within arm’s reach. He doesn’t know what to say or what will help, but he’s there if you ask anything of him. It takes him a while, but he starts to realize what signs you give off when something’s off. And you’ll notice that he’s picked up on it, because he’s gotten closer to you and it seems like he’s paying more attention than usual, as opposed to in his own head.

It takes a bit, but he learns that there are some things we can’t just push down and bottle up. You need support, and while he’s clumsy with it, he’ll give you what he can at any time you need.

(Note: I started writing this um... several years ago, and only wrote Nero and Dante. I came back 3 years later and finished this off. So if there’s a change in consistency of my writing, that would be why.)

Not gonna lie, I was just in an incredibly self-indulgent mood and my thoughts kept straying over to this topic. So why not share?

Nero

He’s nervous at first, but he’s always nervous when it comes to this stuff. He wants to make sure you’re enjoying yourself, and he’s a bit self-conscious, but the sight of him on top of you, a blush on his cheeks as he tries to keep himself composed is nothing short of a masterpiece.

If you really want to make him lose himself, grab him. It doesn’t have to be hard, but if you grab his thighs or his hips, you can feel how it affects him as he moves with a bit more vigor. As much as he hates to admit it, you can hear how it affects him too as he bites his lip to try and stifle himself.

Even better, praise him. Tell him how wonderful he looks like this, how well he’s doing. He won’t admit that he loves it, but his face gets even redder and his movements a little more desperate.

His speed and rhythm is pretty moderate since he’s trying to control himself. When he gets closer to orgasm, his restraint goes out the window. He’s panting, moaning, swearing, reaching to jerk himself to finish. Once he reaches this point, it doesn’t take much to drive him over the edge.

And goodness, what a sight. He’s taking his time for many reasons, but he’s absolutely breathtaking as a flush spreads from his face to his shoulders. He looks so focused on so many things, on what he’s doing, how you’re reacting, how this feels much better than expected. It’s hard to keep your hands from running all up and down his sides and hips.

He doesn’t say too much, outside of asking how you’re doing. You’re gonna be the one mostly speaking, soft words of encouragement, checking how he’s doing and making sure he’s still okay, asking what he wants, and telling him how much you love him (and love him on top of you like this.)

Don’t expect a crazy pace here. He’s slow the entire way through, only showing any sort of variance when he’s starting to reach the peak of his own pleasure. But despite that (or perhaps because of), it’s a very sensual experience for both of you.

It’ll take him a bit of time to recover, both mentally and physically, but having another time like this isn’t off the table at all, especially now that you’ve both discovered how great it can be for you both.

Vergil

If Vergil isn’t on board (and he isn’t, at first,) it’s because he hesitates to give up control in any situation, including in the bedroom. If you try to move on your own, he’ll stop moving entirely, just to ensure he still lets this continue at his pace. You might be the one inside of him for a change, but he’s still just as in control as he always is. Not that you mind at all.

Vergil is hardly ever vocal in any situation, but you know this already. And knowing what you do, you can pick up on other auditory cues to how he’s feeling. The way his breath hitches when he moves his hips in this specific way. How he holds his breath when he’s doing that specific motion. Asking if he’s still alright just gives you brief nods. If he’s speaking, he’s giving you commands to stay still, most likely.

He sets a very moderate pace. Not too quick, but not nearly as slow as V. What he lacks in speed, he makes up for in other areas. He shifts position more often than he changes speed, and the weight he applies varies as well. He mixes it up enough to keep you on the edge.

He’s not incredibly likely to do this again in the future, but the possibility is nonzero. He just might have to be in an incredibly specific mood, and that’s not one that would come along incredibly often. He did enjoy himself, though, no worries.

An update

Hello, hello! My goodness, it’s been quite a minute since I’ve come around here. Nearly 3 entire years now! Much has changed for me, and I’m sure for many of you following me (400+ of you!! Wowie!)

That being said, I’m thinking of attempting to return to writing here! I get notifications here every so often, and the knowledge that people are still enjoying my writing and headcanons makes me incredibly happy.

After looking through some of the messages I’ve received here years ago, something struck a chord in me that inspires me to come back. Ya know, remembering why I started this in the first place.

Of course, there are untouched requests in the inbox, and there are a couple of forgotten drafts I never really finished. Perhaps I’ll finish the drafts and ease back into writing. Whether or not I’ll touch those years-old requests is up in the air.

But in the meantime, I hope to be able to provide content for everyone as I have in the past, despite my... rather lengthy hiatus.

Nero

Nero wasn’t really sure what you had said to him at first. He just sort of chalked it up to the fact that you were drunk, but he asked you to repeat yourself anyway.

You just sort of giggled as you repeated what you had told him. The look on his face told you that he didn’t understand.

You’d told him in Spanish that he was incredibly attractive and that you’d like to get to know him a little more intimately, to put it mildly. When you decided to translate for him, you noticed his face getting a little redder.

You found it incredibly cute. Nero briefly wondered how the fact you could speak multiple languages never came up previously, and he’d be lying if he said he didn’t like hearing it.

Dante

Dante wasn’t necessarily a stranger to people getting so drunk they no longer spoke English. Except most of the time, it came across as gibberish, but he recognized that you were speaking an actual language. French, maybe?

You smirked at him and repeated what you told him before translating. Yep, it was French, and you informed him that he was one of the most handsome guys you’d ever laid eyes on.

You continued, though, seeing that Dante seemed at least a little entertained by your drunken flirting. The things you were saying were getting more and more... spicy.

And he was indeed enjoying hearing the words roll flawlessly from your tongue. He’d be sure to hear more of it later when you two were alone.

V

V himself doesn’t drink, and he’s not often around people who do drink very much (except Dante, but Dante can hold his liquor incredibly well.) So he’s at a bit of a loss when it comes to what to do when dealing with a drunk person. Especially if they’re speaking a language he doesn’t speak.

He correctly identified the language as Italian, and he knew some words, but mainly from markings in music. Knowing ritardando and maestoso didn’t really help him much here, though.

You translated for him upon his request, telling him that he was rather beautiful and his voice was smooth and you could listen to it all day.

And he was flattered, truly. But he’d rather you flirt with him when you were sober. Though he would definitely be asking about your multilingualism, drunk or not.

Vergil

Vergil has the same case as V in that he isn’t exposed to drunk people enough to know what to do in the case of someone who’s intoxicated speaking to him in a language he doesn’t know.

So you’re speaking to him in Russian. Vergil guessed as much due to the language sounding unique and his slight exposure to it through literature.

As for what you’re saying, he can’t say. But you can. You let him know in English that you think he’s got a really, really nice face. You might conveniently leave out the part about wanting to see it in certain places, such as between your legs, as you translate.

He might not want to reveal that he’s curious about the languages you know, if there are more than two, and your level of fluency, but he is curious nonetheless. Perhaps he’d be willing to push his stony nature aside and pursue this conversation when you’re a bit more sober.

The sounds of crackling electricity and paws thudding against the ground mixed with the demonic screeching to create the usual cacophony of battle. You’d joined up with V on a few of his missions and you’d gotten used to the routine of get attacked by a demon, make sure you don’t take too much damage as Griffon and Shadow took care of the demons, offer V backup, and either you or V finishing off the enemy. Sometimes you’d hear V confidently and surely reciting poetry from the book he was always reading from when he was inside the van.

After several repetitive loops of this, you decided you’d mix up the routine a little bit. Why should V be the one having all of the literary fun? You had a masterpiece of your own to share during this particular battle.

As sure as the sun rises in the morning, you heard the steady recital of Blake coming from V. “To see a world in a grain of sand, and a heaven in a wild--” You grinned as you pulled your own stack of papers from their place on your person.

“According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way a bee should be able to fly,” you read, in a tone similarly full of conviction. You had to stop yourself from laughing as you heard V stop his words in confusion, looking at you with a cocked eyebrow. “Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground.”

He looked like he wanted to say something, but he was very clearly having trouble finding the words. Finally, a single word left him.

“Why?”

Rather than answering his question, you dealt the finishing blow to the demon nearest you, its body dissolving into dust.

“The bee, of course, flies anyway,” you quoted, a very dramatic tone to your voice.

Oh yeah, you’d definitely be doing this again.

The door to the Devil May Cry office swung open and you looked up from your phone to find the owner of the shop trudging in, a bit of a rigidity to his movement. You could see his ever-so-slight wince as he raised his arms to stretch. He dragged himself over to the couch and flopped down onto it next to you, sighing as he did. “You alright?” you asked him. “You seem a bit more tired than usual.”

“Maybe. I’ll be fine, I’m just hurtin’ like hell.” He laughed as he continued, “I think I’m gettin’ too old for this.”

“If that’s true, the world’s in trouble,” you quipped. Still, you hated seeing him in pain. You really wanted to do something to alleviate it, and that’s when the idea struck you. “I could give you a massage if you want.” You were sure to keep the suggestion casual so as to leave room for him to say no, but you had to admit, you’d love nothing more than for him to say--

“Sure, why not?”

Okay, you weren’t exactly expecting him to play along, but you couldn’t ignore your heart beating just a bit faster. No, you hadn’t confessed your feelings for him. Yet. But in the meantime, you could daydream, and you’d be lying if you hadn’t thought about touching him. You shifted along with him as he turned his back to you. “I’ll try not to make it worse,” you commented as you placed your hands on his shoulders.

You began to knead at his muscles, and god, how was he even moving with muscles this stiff? No wonder he looked like he was in so much pain. The more your fingers worked into his flesh, the more Dante allowed himself to relax, almost slumping forward. “Don’t fall asleep on me now,” you joked.

“This just feels really, really good,” he answered. “If I knew you were this good at massaging, I would’ve asked you to do this for me sooner.” You felt a bit of heat rising to your face at the comment, but you tried to quash the feelings your crush on the devil hunter was giving you at the moment.

“I wouldn’t mind doing this for you again.”

“And I wouldn’t mind having you do this for me again.”
