🍋 A potion to ward off anxiety 🍋
Carmelite Water
It's believed that the Carmelite order of monks or nuns created this water somewhere in the seventeenth century. Spiritually, this potion is used as a road opener (removing blocks), cleanser (banishing and removing energy), and for blessings.
Ingredients
1 cup lemon balm
1/2 cup angelica leaves and stems, chopped
1 tablespoon cloves
1 lemon, zested
1/2 tablespoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon coriander seeds
4 cups vodka, gin or brandy
Place the dry ingredients in a 1-quart glass jar, and add the alcohol. Stir and shake well. Place in a cool, dry place and let steep for two weeks. Strain through cheesecloth into a new jar. It will keep for up to four months.
Dosage: one tablespoon daily as needed to soothe anxiety.

People who are great at manifesting have this in common:
They doubt their doubt.
Even when they are fearful, a part of them laughs at that fear and tells it to shut the fuck up.
'Cause that’s what faith really is.
It’s not an immovable rock. It’s just a bitch with an attitude.
The Samhain Ultramarathon | 100 Days of Witchcraft
"Etheri, why are you talking about Samhain already? It's still Spring where you live..." shhh...
October 31st is my favorite day to be a witch! I find myself looking forward to it throughout various times of the year. So, this year, I decided to make a little "challenge" for myself in the days leading up to Samhain, and I wanted to invite others to participate ^.^
Starting July 23rd, I'd like to invite you all to join me for what I'm calling "The Samhain Ultramarathon!"
The challenge itself is to touch your Craft for 100 days in a row! Starting July 23rd, the task is to doing something, anything witchy each day, counting down to October 31st. Some days can be as simple as just updating your grimoire or lighting a stick of incense, while other days can be more elaborate spells or rituals. The ultimate goal is to touch your practice at least once a day, even for just one minute, for 100 consecutive days! It'll be like a spiritual marathon... hence the name :P
I'm sharing this now, over two months out, to give anyone who may want to participate time to coordinate! If you want to share your preparations and if you want to share your "marathon experience" once the challenge itself starts, please use the tag #TheSamhainUltramarthon !

Sometimes tangible, real life magic is just a shift in perspective. You can make something mundane magical if you just wish it so.
Inside the Witch’s Library: Mundane Magic by Molly Donlan
A few weeks ago I found myself at a loss. I am an ADHD witch who lives in a small space with my partner, who has diagnosed OCD. I’m sure you can imagine the challenges that brings 😅
So I came here for a little advice. My magical practice has continuously enriched & enhanced my life in all ways, so I figured someone on this site with hearth magic expertise might have some advice for me. Thus, Mundane Magic entered my life (I’d like to thank @our-marvel-universe again for this book rec).
This book has a great introduction explaining ADHD thought patterns and why certain tasks might be more difficult for folks with brains wired like mine. Off the jump, Donlan suggests adding novelty to mundane tasks to “trick” the brain into having more fun, and using the Moon & Earth cycles to keep track of deep-cleaning chores.
The rest of the book is broken up into sections based on different areas of a typical Western home. There are spell ideas, but what I love the most were the ways of adding magic/whimsy/novelty to home-keeping tasks. While nothing I read was revolutionary, just the information being organized in this way has had me reaching for this book almost daily since initially reading though it.
Yes, there are spell ideas, but what really resonated with me was the information on how certain areas of the home could influence my magical life. The bed, for example, I hadn’t realized could make me feel stuck or groggy in the mornings if it wasn’t being regularly energetically cleansed. A simple solution for me was a magical cleansing pillow spray I made and have been using daily, in between weekly washes.
This book has really helped me decontextualize cleaning and has helped the magic in my home flow with less restrictions. And I can feel the spiritual benefits! My hearth spirits have been much more lively, and I’ve felt their involvement in my daily chores too, helping me out.
I’m really grateful I found a resource like this, from a mundane perspective and a magical. I highly recommend this book for other ADHD witches or anyone who’s learning to keep a home for the first time.

☀️Solar Energy Spell Jar☀️
For inspiration, motivation, & energy.
Things you will need:
☀️A pocket-sized jar or other such container
☀️Small paper scroll
☀️A writing utensil with a colour you associate with motivation, inspiration, and energy (I used a yellow watercolour pencil)
☀️Ginger* - vitality, high energy
☀️Sugar - joy, sweetness
☀️Coffee* - energy, connection
☀️Marigold* - happiness, solar energy
☀️Orange zest - abundance, joy
☀️Candle (optional) - wax used to secure the ends of your paper scroll so it won't unravel. The colour can even correspond with your intent.
☀️Quartz - intentions, amplification
☀️Sunlight (preferably morning light to build up the energy as the sun rises higher) - solar energy, vitality
*Ingredients should be dried to prevent mold growth.
After gathering all your materials, cleanse the items as desired.
Take up your writing utensil and write the following on a small piece of paper: "May I be filled with inspiration, motivation, & energy ☀️".
Roll the paper into a scroll or fold small enough to fit into your jar. You can dab the ends of the scroll or sides of the folded paper in melted candle wax to seal it shut.
To the jar add ginger, sugar, coffee, marigold, orange zest and your paper.
Seal as desired and place in a sunny location with quartz to charge.
Carry with you to gain inspiration, motivation and energy throughout the day.
Cord cutting spell, but it's just me cutting their shoelaces off of their shoes.
Kitchen Witchery: Wooden Spoon Blessing
I spend a lot of time in the kitchen. It's my happy place. This little blessing was originally specifically for a wooden spoon, but you can use it to bless any kitchen utensils you plan to use when you're working soke kitchen magic.
Simply anoint the spoon (or other utensil) with a bit of olive oil and say
"What I stir, I shape.
What I make, sustains."

Patience is a Magical Skill
One of the hardest things for me to learn as a witch was that magic doesn't move on my schedule. I can do everything right. I can light all the candles, say all the pretty words, time it, calculate, etc, and the universe will still take its time arranging itself. As a 13 year old, I took this to mean I did something wrong. Now, two decades later, I finally understand.
Patience isn't just sitting around and hoping the work sticks. Patience is breathing, staying steady while the work settles in. I wish I could say it's gotten easier, but I'd be a liar.
To me, patience in witchcraft is like simmering something on the stove. If you keep lifting the lid to peek inside, you slow the whole thing down. There has to be trust in the quiet parts. Stillness doesn't mean failure. Sometimes (often, in my experience), that stillness means the magic is taking root where you can't see it yet.
