[ i have no idea how to use tumblr anymore, it's been at least a decade since i've touched it other than pleasantly lurking. i'm here to probably rp some nameless ghouls from the band ghost so, i'll be here chipping away at either reconfiguring this blog since i think francis dolarhyde as the great red dragon might fit nicely into the ministry of ghost, or, if i start from scratch with some ghouls, i'll post a link. ]

“I don’t know. Are you?” a frown grew on his brow. Surely Francis wouldn’t come running to the Prime Minister to hide if he was in trouble from the police or something, right?

“You look like a scared rabbit.” he said with a small sigh and scratched the back of his neck, one hand in his pocket. “Come with me to the kitchen,” he said and reached out to gently grab his arm and lead him to the kitchen. “Sit down, I’ll give you something to drink.” There was some fresh coffee still in the pot that he poured and placed on the kitchen island. “Talk to me Francis. What’s going on? I haven’t seen you in some time and now you show up on my doorstep looking like you’re about to have a panic attack at any moment.” He spoke calmly as he took a seat on one of the stools himself, the one that did not hold a cup full of steaming hot coffee.

Accepting the coffee, Francis used the cup to warm his hands and to ground himself. The smell was strong and good, and gave him something to focus on as he took steadying breaths. Gradually, he forced himself to look up at his brother -- only one quick glance to start, before he was looking into his coffee cup again.

“ Reba’s gone. I told her to go away, before... ” Francis glanced cautiously to each window in the room. “ Before the Dragon found out. She doesn’t unders... doesn’t know how serious He is. You know. ”

[ RORY. ]

Has something happened? The question made Francis’ shoulders lift, tension strung through him. He had no intention of taking off shoes or jacket, braced to run at any second. “ Am I -- in t-trouble? ” A furtive look around the foyer assured him that Malcolm’s keys, coat, and shoes were gone; still at work, or working away from home. Even better. Francis wasn’t sure he could stand to be pinned under that mean gaze and meaner voice.

“ I feel -- really bad. ” When he reached up to scratch fingers through hair long-overdue for a haircut, his grip tightened to pull hard against his aching skull. “ Dunno if s-something happened. D’you think...? ”

Introducing LEMURIA, a brand new discord-based, 18 and up multi-fandom group roleplay inclusive of both canons and OCs from all media, bringing them together in a historical fantasy setting for them to explore. Throw your muse through a rift in space and time into a land full of ominous forests trapped eternally at dusk, dangerous roads to trading outposts where the dirt is stained with blood drawn by the attacks of thieves, and a grand kingdom that opens its doors regularly for parties that draw travelers from all over the land. Lemuria and its factions are open for characters to explore and interact with at their own pace, with their own companions. Will they join the band of thieves in the mountains? XV - Tooth/Teeth

The Tooth Fairy

Halloween always brings Francis closer to the Dragon. October is a volatile month of masks, artificial gore, jump-scares, and all manner of things liable to send Francis into anxious and/or psychotic episodes. Even when things don’t take too far of a turn for the mental worst, he spends hours after spooky Halloween encounters wondering whether the girl with half her face bitten off was a Halloween thing, a hallucination thing, or a Dragon thing.

On the worst days, Francis goes to work dressed a little too warm for the lingering summer parts of October because the Dragon bites and scratches him, and Francis’ hands and arms and neck and shoulders come out looking like a bad run-in with an aggressive dog. The Dragon bites to let Francis know he’s real, asserting himself over the other Halloween spooks. Francis never makes eye contact with the front-desk receptionist around this time of year, in case the Dragon bites her, too.

On Halloween night, Francis hurries home from work, past families swarming the streets and holding hands, brothers and sisters and parents -- perfect in the throes of a holiday. Not even mothers nagging their children about sugar and rotting teeth seem to wield much threat. The children laugh it off. Their father, ever the economist, assures them rotted teeth at their age will bring decent tooth fairy revenue.

Francis drives home with a white-knuckled grip on the steering wheel, humming every song and jingle on the radio, loudly, to drown out the Dragon’s vibrant onslaught of new suggestions, feasting on a time of family connectedness -- of families looking for a fright.

Made of moonlight, hot and breathed against Francis’ spine like the light or a lover’s kiss. Nothing merciful. Nothing: just the black.

When He roars it is violent, vicious, vein-ripping. When He speaks, Grandmother in the floorboards, the floor, from the wood and the air and the night.

Aayma. Aayma. AAYMA, whistling across the air, a wave rolling in a puddle of too much, too much blood.

BUT WE ARE HUNGRY FRANCIS AND I MUST EAT AND IF I DO NOT EAT WE WILL TAKE HER. I WILL TAKE HER.

“ If we do not plan, we’ll be caught. ” Words are snarled, aggravated and afraid. Francis has never dared to take an aggressive tone with the Dragon. The Dragon has never forced him into such a tight corner -- never dangled Reba ahead of poor-planning.

This is not the Dragon.

The thought comes to him with disarming clarity. Francis tenses all over, blue eyes wide with fear and staring transfixed at the abstract carpet patterns beneath his palms. “ Wh... What did y-you do to me? -- To the Dragon? ”

“Yes.” The answer comes uncharacteristically fast for a man who spends so much time deliberating over every syllable and sentence. Francis is seized by the same restless anger, simmering just beneath the surface only because of Hannibal’s leading example of patience, and steady control over his more impulsive dragon.

Stepping up to the balcony’s ledge to brush shoulders with his partner, Francis follows the other’s gaze; hungry, hunting.

“ He ... mentioned the gardens, east of the -- plaza. We should go. ”
