My son once came back from a record shop visit with his uncle and with wide eyes and excited smile presented me with a cassette tape. “Look what I found!” As though he’d unearthed ancient pottery at a dig sight.

I love it. I love when my kids discover something that I take for granted. I hear songs with new ears because they are in a state of wonder. My son played me “Paint it Black” the other day, I’m like yeah Rolling Stones so what? And then I see his face and that LOOK like he just discovered sunsets and he’s like yeah but listen to this part, listen to the guitar right here - and I hear a song anew. Like watching a puppy see a bird for the first time, and oh oh right yeah birds are fucking amazing, forgot about that.

I think this is largely why “react” channels on YouTube have become so popular. Watching someone experience something you love for the first time is exciting. Rediscovering that thing through their eyes is also exciting.

Yes, that's still tracing.

Changing the character doesn't magically erase the fact that you traced.

If you want a pose to use for your artwork, you can use tools where you can make your own poses, or select one from the gallery that is specifically made for artist reference instead of disrespectfully ripping off another artist. All of these below are free:

You can also use a reference image from someone who specifcially creates reference stock images for artwork and comics, like AdorkaStock on DeviantArt who's pretty famous for creating such a huge, organized gallery for artists to use for reference.

It's not hard not to trace.

fav unhinged bastard! but in all seriousness in terms of the show as a whole she's a really important character. i don't mean "ooh she saved the doctor a million times", ironically enough that's like... the least significant thing she's done. the whole s7b plotline is a red herring to make you THINK clara is amazing and special because she's fractured amongst timelines but she's revealed to just be.... herself, which is amazing and special in and of itself because she is an actual real person. which is something the doctor fails to see at first

no her real significance is like... narratively. there have been companions before who've been similar to the doctor and there's been companions who've been just as impressive as the doctor (most of them actually the doctor is a sad fuck) but i do think clara is the first companion to have the same... narrative function? as the doctor. she believes it's clara who, not doctor who. she believes she's just as strong and clever and smart as the doctor and she knows how to be the doctor! the only flaw in this plan is... she can't regenerate. she is not the doctor and neither she nor the doctor can face that. thus heaven sent

and she's psychosexually obsessed with the doctor which does(n't) hurt
