Missed celebrating my blog birthday on here

Cool, mom. Great.

One hundo percent just found some cat poop outside for a snack. She was way too cheerful when she came back inside.

Instead of a dog to be friends with my cats when I have to start commuting again, I got an emotionally damaged dog that can’t be left alone 🙃

Also, fully aware it’s because I expected a Disney situation and expected it to go the way other dogs in my life have gone, and that’s my fault and not hers.

But it’s still hard on me and Pipps, and the adjustment is a bummer.

I am to blame for not enjoying this situation.

The upside to the dog is that people on social media objectively like her more than my cats and I think it’s tricking people into liking me

Real question:

Two months in, when you did not adequately manage expectations, when is a new dog still settling in and when can you admit the sunk cost because you’re definitely a cat person?

I complained that Josie would pee on the floor instead of waking me up if she had to pee at night (considering crating her overnight; my sleep is suffering), but her touching me in bed and me absolutely hating it is how she wakes me up, I’ve confirmed.

Just kidding, she must not have peed at 3 in the morning, and instead pissed on the kitchen floor between 3:30 and 7am.

So that’s fun.

@amwaves I’m seriously so worked up about it! Even the ones who aren’t thinking about pretending to be a gladiator (my thoughts on my IG stories obvs) say, “well we can compare and politics and society and blah blah blah.”
