I'm so proud of this. So, so proud. Painting is not what I usually do, but honestly after this practice, I think I honestly should do more of it. The hands are honestly a miracle because the screenshot of a GIF that I used as a reference had really blurry hands so I kind of had to guess at what I was looking at. And I'm so proud that the face actually looks like Natalie Dormer. Always a plus when your drawing looks like the person you're trying to draw.

Now to finish Sansa, and the dreaded background, and I'll have painted the scene!

WIP-13.02.2015.03 - Margaery and Sansa in the Garden

Well shit I'm on a roll today. I really don't do a lot of 'realistic' painting, and it's not very reflective of my usual style, so I'm kind of worried that people will think I've stolen it or something - genuinely I've been working on this all dang night! I'm painting straight from a reference... so naturally this is a lot easier than coming up with totally original stuff.

Anyway, first time trying to paint actual people, and honestly one of the few fanarts I've attempted doing. So where else to start than Game of Thrones amiright

this was really more a study in skin tones and hands, because I'm very bad at both of those things...

I also tried to find the original photographer, but the flickr source gave me a 404, and an image search gave me nothing but dumb 'Hipster Blue Flowers' tagged, unsourced posts from tumblr, or links to now deleted blogs.

Hahha... accidentally deleted my original post. dammit.

Anyway, it's finally done! I can't say I'm totally happy with it, I went in without any clear idea as to what I wanted to draw and so not much really happened but working with the colours and different colour schemes was really fun.

It was intended to be some kind of space/night/sky creature - in all honesty I just really wanted to put crazy star nipples on someone.

Thought it was about time I did one of these.

I drew a lot as a child, and filled hundreds of notebooks and sketchpads, most of which is still at my parents' house, so I couldn't add them to this.

It's really nice to see how my skills have improved over the last 6 years or so. I haven't really branched out exactly, my drawings are still more or less the same thing, but just more well done.

It's a good reminder though to keep working. Hopefully I can improve more!
