Just purchased London Grammar's debut EP 'If You Wait' and it is amazing. I have been waiting for a fresh band to come through with a unique flavour and this is it! I first listened to the single 'Strong' when I was at work and a student that wasn't mine was learning it for a performance. I was immediately intrigued by lead vocalist Hannah Reid's colourful vocals and the simple instrumentation in the recordings. It was not long after that I was listening to this song on repeat and I finally found the CD due to the album selling out at major stores everywhere!!!

'If You Wait' features the single 'Strong' which has been released recently on commercial Australian radio. 'Nightcall' and 'Strong' are also featured on the Ministry of Sound's 'The Annual 2014' as remixes. 

London Grammar is a UK band featuring Hannah Reid (vocals), Dan Rothman (guitar) and Dot Major (drums, keyboard, djembe) and are currently in Australia touring. With two sold out performances lined up in Melbourne this week, this band is one to watch out!

If you like bands such as Florence and the Machine and Angus and Julia Stone and other alternative/folk/indie bands, then check out London Grammar, you will not be disappointed!

Will definitely be purchasing tickets on their next tour!!

so i've jumped on the tumblr wagon...

Well, well, here we meet tumblr. I never thought I would ever be blogging on the Internet, but after many interactions with online journalism classes, I finally woke up to the realisation that, hey, the future of journalism is online. So why not start now?

Hi, I'm Jena and welcome to 'Page Deux'. (For those who aren't French speakers, deux = two.)  I'm 19 years old and I am a living and breathing musician. I am a vocalist and a songwriter as well as a vocal coach. Like many others I am also a university student studying Arts with a major in Journalism and French studies.

If somebody was to ask me where I would like to see myself in 10 years time, I would either struggle to answer or say a famous singer, or an entertainment journalist travelling the world, or living in Paris eating croissants in my apartment by the River Seine. But for now, I am just going with the flow and chilling down in moody Melbourne where the weather could be 24 and sunny for 1 hour and the next it is raining, cold and winds are 100km/h. 

It is here where I plan to post thoughts and reviews about things that happen to amuse me, so enjoy!
