After weeks of being held captive in the King’s dungeon, Mona Graves was given one last chance to give up information about Caelan and his whereabouts in exchange for a lesser punishment. She remained steadfast in not speaking, preferring her death penalty over a lifetime of imprisonment, however, in the morning of her scheduled public execution, the knights came to find that she had somehow managed to escape. The knights who were assigned to keep watch of her the night before were also nowhere to be found, leading the King to believe that traitors had infiltrated the King’s guard.

Consumed with paranoia, Arthur declared that no one in the palace could be trusted. All the servants, knights, navymen, and other officials are to be thoroughly questioned and investigated by their commanders and supervisers. The knights and navymen especially are still under close watch in hopes of weeding out any possible traitors and so should ANY suspicion arise in regards to an officier’s loyalty to the king, they are to be dismissed immediately. If that suspicion were to be proven legitimate, the treachery shall be punishable by death.

Any citizen of Valencia holding any information about the Titans will be granted a monatary award should their claims be proven true and lead to the capture of a Titan. Those who choose to step forward will be granted the right to remain anonymous to the public and to the person in question should they wish. False claims have risen since the announcement as the declining economy has driven many of the lower class to do whatever it takes to get their next meal on the table, even if it means endangering a neighbor’s life by falsely tarnishing their name.

THIS IS PART ONE OF OUR PLOTDROP. Please feel free to post starters with your characters’ reactions before shit really hits the fan. And plot with each other! This is a perfect opportunity for your character to screw someone else over (whether by choice or by force) or to have your character get screwed over and labeled a Titan (whether it’s a false claim or not) Remember, you guys are in control of the narrative, we’re simply here to give you the fuel you need to advance your plots so go crazy and have fun!

Given the age of this rpg and the consistent decline in activity, we admins feel we have no choice but to bring things to a close here at TML. That’s not to say that we’ll be putting the rpg on an indefinite hiatus, some of us have been playing these characters for almost four years and we know there’s a good handful of you who’d like to keep writing for them (us admins included) and so we’ve decided that the best course of action will be to privatize the group and basically give you all free reign as to what you can write. What does this mean exactly?

For one, we won’t be promoing nor actively looking for new members as we’ve resigned to the fact that most rpers are looking for something brand new and would rather not catch up with a year’s worth of plotting (if someone happens upon the rpg and would like to join, we’ll take that in a case by case basis as to whether or not we’ll allow them in.) 

Secondly, we’ll do our best to wrap up the current plot by posting events and plot drops here and there, and ask that all our members keep up with their threads so we can all get some closure, but that’s pretty much the extent of our involvement plot wise as admins. The rest is in your hands. If you’d like to do an au, plot a thread in a past life or a thread that takes place during your character’s time as a god, you’re free to do so without our permission. For those of you who are familiar with indie rping, this will essentially be like an indie rp group (??? that makes no sense, but hear me out). You’ll have the creative freedom that comes with indie rping, not following one singular plot and able to have multiple threads that take place in different “verses”. However unlike indie rping, we’re only allowing you to role-play with those inside the group and would require that you all keep up activity with your threads pertaining to the valencia verse until we finish it up (which should be soon).

If anyone has any questions or concerns please contact us! We’re doing this because we know there are many of you who want to continue your characters’ stories, but we admins can’t devote the same amount of time and effort in keeping this plot going as we did before and we’re hoping that in giving you all the freedom to write what you’d like, muse and activity will pick up and stay up with whoever we have left regardless of whether or not we’re keeping the main active. 

That being said, there are many of you who we aren’t sure if you have left us already or are still interested in staying, so if you are interested in continuing to write in this group, please send us a message letting us know, and let us know what characters you intend to keep if you currently have more than one (this is a good chance for you to drop a character or pick another one up if your muse has ran dry but you’d still like to stay). 

You have until July 21st to message us before we start posting the unfollows! 

In the meantime, this post marks the privatization of the group, so you can all have fun plotting with each other and setting up some new verses while we work on the next plot drop :)

Why do you want the role?:

There’s nothing I love more than a twisted, slightly tragic power woman. For me, Evita is that kind of character. Her past makes her slightly bitter, her outcast status makes her seem dark. Characters with layers always gets me and I can see myself really developing a strong character with a bite that also has a weak spot.

Future Plots:

I do have a few ideas! Firstly, I was thinking that (upon your approval) Evita could host a Carnie Dinner/Ball? While initially it could b a gesture of good will, to help her people mingle with the rest but deep down she doesn’t believe it? Like she expects chaos? No? Okay, well I do have more. She’s so protective of her stand-in monster babies that anyone who would dare to hurt them would incur her wrath. She’s one clingy mama. Also, her little bad snakes could go around biting people (perhaps causing hallucinations and/or non-fatal but sever injuries). Of course, players would have to first agree, but it’s a suggestion if anyone wants to be a light snack. Other than that? General drama llama stirring.

Headcanons:

PAST: For so long, Echidna hated the  monstrous side to her children - they were a sign of her own failing, a reminder of her imperfections. The longer she stayed with them in the cave, the more she forgot about common beauty and began to see the dark, twisted looks of her children. They were something special, the union of her and her love in physical form. It just too her long to see it.

PRESENT: Evita hates the smell of burning. It reminds her of the stake,of seeing all those little girls be burned for being just a little bit different. She prefers the cold and the dank, almost like she were in a cave, though she doesn’t know why. Perhaps she is just as cold blooded as the creatures that do her bidding.

PRESENT: Evita’s lips are always painted red - the colour she makes herself, with the added ingredient of snake poison. The brew itself is harmless - she never makes enough for a lethal dose, but there’s a reason why the woman has sworn never to allow her lips to grace another’s. 

Personality Traits:

STRENGTHS:

PROTECTIVE - Evita loves her little ‘children’ as far as she is capable of doing so. She has a reluctant mothering instinct that she somewhat resents, as she truly believes that she is far better off one her own. Yet, cross one of her little monsters and you may find something less than seductive slithering into your bed.

CUNNING - Her quick, cleaver thinking and sharp-like business mind have kept Evita alive for this long. She knows what to do to ensure her own safety and holds no qualms about tossing others in the flames for it. 

SHARP-TONGUED - Much like she charms snakes, Evita can also charm people too with her sweet, quick tongue that can turn just as sharp if needs be. While she usually reserves her charm and her silver tongue for when a situation is dire, often relying on her own monstrously dark personality she does have the capability to be seductive. 

WEAKNESSES:

BITTER - Evita is resentful for the life she has been force to lead. She would never be a lady nor would she ever be properly respected the way she truly deserves. She will always despise those who look down upon her and her talent.

RUTHLESS - While she is a mother to the misfits and the monsters, Evita would happily save herself should the need ever arise. She has gotten this far alone, she will continue alone should she be forced to. It’s not like anyone else will care for her.

JEALOUS - Pretty young girls, normal girls, have always spiked that green envy within Evita. If she had been pretty and sweet and normal, she would have been able to stay home, marry a nice farm boy and lead a normal life. A life she could never have otherwise.

PARA SAMPLE

Cool green eyes watched as the last of the fire’s embers began to wither and fade, the room dimming, edging on darkness as a lone figure remained in the otherwise vast and lonely room. With a half-drank glass of wine in her pale hands, the redhead frowned down into the lukewarm crimson depths, struggling to keep her past memories at bay. She could smell the thick cloying scent of burning flesh tease her nose, hear the faint yet piercing cries of young girls screaming for their parents, for mercy. She could almost see the ruddy faces, tear-stained and helpless as it finally dawned on them that death was no friend of theirs. She could remember the exact moment the light went out of their eyes and the flames consumed them.

Grimacing, Evita Bristol knocked back the last of her wine, a few stray beads of moisture gathering at the corners of her painted red lips. She could taste the faint acidic burn of the poison, weak and otherwise harmless save from the faintest of tingles, a slight burn that was more pleasure than pain now. Hardly anything hurt anymore - just a faint, dull ache of the past, of screams that ring out into silence and of flames that lapped and danced around withering, restrained little bodies. Just a ghost, just a memory that strayed at the fringes of Evita’s consciousness, haunting her enough to keep her in the past whilst being fully in the present. 

A gentle hiss emitted from the far corner of the room, encased by shadows where the light of the dying fire could not reach it. Cocking her head to the side, Evita Bristol allowed her long spill of head curls to fall as she softly cooed at the coiled creature. “No more bad thoughts,” She soothed, her faint accent curling off her lips. The creature twitched responsively to the woman’s words, the way a child would upon hearing it’s mothers voice for the first time out of the womb. “Come,” Evita extended a long artful hand towards the curled serpent, the curve of her lips rising up in an indulgent smile. 

Upon her command, the creature coiled and arched it’s way towards her, eager to be near the woman despite the faint flicker of flames. The snake’s skin was cool to touch, smooth and familiar to Evie as her favourite pet roe to wind its way around her slender shoulders, encasing her like a cool silken scarf. “Don’t worry, love.” The tender voice was not the one people were use to hearing from those scarlet painted venomous lips. This was the voice of a woman who bore love in her heart the way men tenderly carried the gold coin in their bags. “We never dwell on the past.”

Why do you want the role?: After I’ve studied all the biographies in detail, she’s caught my eye the most. Possibly because I’m currently reading Murakami’s 1Q84 (Part 2) and one of the main characters is an assassin. Somehow, I immediately thought about Orena and realized I’ve never played a double identity person – especially an assassin. The very idea of it is challenging on itself and I can’t help but to get a little excited for it, now that I think about it. She is a complex character and I would love to add to her more and explore her furthermore.  Future Plots:  I don’t have many ideas so far, but here are just a few things which popped into my mind when I thought about Orena. 1. The background / her thoughts of ‘Endymion’s’ death and how losing the only man she fell for shaped her. Does it still haunt her or she is unable to let go because she fears that, if she does let go, she would completely forget about him? 2. Her thoughts/ feelings about her brother, the fear for him and the reluctance to seek him out. 3. Exploring her relationship with Natalie and Aurora (and Hadrian and Harold, once they’re taken). Her lingering resentment towards Horatio and, when she meets Nimue, how would she behave around the girl. Would she try to win her friendship so to hurt Horatio or manipulate her into giving info on his whereabouts… 4. See how this “on pause” state is working out for her. Headcanons:  1. Selene - There was time when Selene could vividly remember the way Endymion laughed – the sound of his voice, the manner in which he’d toss his head backwards. She used to know the exact hue of his eyes, but as time passed, she began to realize that she’s started to forget him – the little details, the sound of his voice. She hated it and she blamed herself for forgetting about him, for being able to move on as she regarded it to be the greatest crime she could commit against him and the memory of him. She was terrified to be happy and content again, and she clung into the memory of him and the blame and resentment to keep her going, until the curse wiped her memory clean. 2. Orena - Nowadays, the younger Leclair sibling feels like she can do nothing right. She feels like a failure, unwanted and a burden. Staying out and not having a 'job’ to do doesn’t sit well with the young lady. She isn’t used to doing nothing, as there was always a target she had to kill while she worked under Caelan’s crown. Now, there is nothing but boredom and long hours spent in contemplation and reading, and not even that can satisfy her enough. 3. Additional Info - Orena loves that she’s an assassin and she would trade it for nothing, but she wishes she didn’t have to keep is secret from Hadrian. The request Arthur has made is still giving her nightmares, even though she’s openly rebelled against killing her brother. She is most calm when there’s either full moon or new moon in the sky and she feels powered up by it, though she can’t explain why she feels so connected to the night (though she doubts it is because of her 'shady’ work) Personality Traits:  - Positive traits - 1. Protective - Orena is a loyal creature and those little few people she puts her trust in, she would die for. When she feels that those she loves are in danger, she would stop at nothing to protect them, even if it meant laying down her life.  2. Intelligent - Being a high born lady, Orena was taught from early age to dance, sing, behave, read, write, draw, speak multiple languages and be, in short, a properly well educated lady. She is witty and always has a smart thing to say. 3. Skilled - The younger Leclair is a woman of many skills – not only in knowledge, but also in combat. She is calculating and collected, and knows how to strike with a viper’s precision and stealth. Quiet, stealthy and quick, Orena is the perfect and lethal weapon, on her own. - Negative traits - 1. Vengeful - Fool her once, shame on you. Fool her twice, you are most probably going to wind up dead in a ditch somewhere – or at least with a very, very, very ruined reputation, depends on the grudge she holds against someone. And boy, that woman surely can hold a grudge. 2. Cold - Orena doesn’t show her emotions easily, not even to her brother, not as of late. She is calm and calculated, but there is a volcano ready to explode, if only she’d let it. Orena isn’t unfeeling, but she does seem like it. She refuses to acknowledge emotions which could compromise her or endanger her (and those closest to her) as she views unnecessary connections and love as a liability, a weakness. 3. Secretive - Apart from being an assassin, Orena hold many other secrets. They are not exactly secrets per se – it is mostly the reluctance to let anyone know anything private about her. She is a private person and prefers to stay as anonymous and in the shadows as it is humanely possible ( and considering her rank, after all she’s a lady)

__ SELENE __ Broken. Alone. That’s what Selene was, when the news of Endymion’s eternal sleep reached her. How could he? How could they do such a thing to a man she loved? Why? What has she done to deserve it? Was it just because she was a Titan? So many question swirled though the young titaness’ mind and yet there was no answer. Only pain. Pain and betrayal – for once, a long time ago it seemed now, she’s trusted Hypnos. Even cared for him as a friend, as someone with whom she could joke and chat and forget about life until her duties as a Moon Chariot driver took over her time. And now, now he has betrayed her. She lost him. The only him that mattered – her Endymion. Why would Hypnos do that to her? Why? Has she hurt him in a way? Was she evil or manipulative or hurtful and resentful towards him? Has she joked in a hurtful manner? Did she insult him? Why? What has happened? Part of her didn’t want to believe the news that Arke brought to her. Part of her blamed herself and the bigger part blamed Hypnos, for he was to blame. Selene had her doubts. Deep down she knew it was a punishment for being on the 'losing’ side, for being a Titan. She knew it was all Zeus’ fault and, as she stood there with tears in her eyes and her jaw gritted tight, she vowed to herself that she would take her revenge on the Olympians. Someday. Somehow. She will avenge him. __ ORENA __ Oh, how she wanted to scream and shout and tear the man, who spoke to her, apart. She wanted to destroy him, but she kept her composure cold and calm, just as she practiced, but Heavens he was making it hard. Whenever Arthur would open his mouth, Orena wanted to punch him in the teeth and have him swallow them. She usually didn’t mind him this much, but she has had a bad feeling about their business 'rendezvous’ all day long. When he began talking, her temper began boiling, which happened rarely, but she still controlled it. She was the master of control, something she was proud of. All was well until the order came. “I want you to kill Hadrian Leclair for me, lady Orena.” I want you to kill Hadrian Leclair for me, lady Orena. - she repeated internally, hoping it was just a trick. A heartbeat passed. Then another. Then another. She simply stared at the new king and he stared back at her. Words couldn’t seem to leave her mouth, and if they did, she would most probably be thrown into a cell by now.  “Run that by me again, Your Majesty.” She managed to mutter out, still shocked and a bubble of panic rising in her throat. “I want you to kill your brother, Orena.” Arthur calmly replied. “No.” “No?” “No.” Orena repeated, her voice cold and dead. Her world crushed more than it did when her beloved died screaming. She was to kill her brother.  “I would rather die than harm my brother.” She added harshly. “That can be arranged.” Arthur waved with his hand dismissively and had her escorted out of the room. Orena meant what she said. She would rather die than hurt Hadrian, her flesh and blood, her other half, the untouched region in her shattered heart. She knew Arthur would probably prosecute her now, in a way.  But, Orena Leclair also knew how to run and how to hide.  And she will have her revenge, if it was the last thing she does. Everyone who has ever wronged her, hurt her, or threatened her and her family… They will all pay.  King or thief, prince or pauper, no one is safe from her revenge. NO ONE.

Why do you want the role?: This interpretation of Hades is very interesting and the possible character development opportunities really pull at me

Future Plots: 1) the impending wedding between Godric & Briar, maybe some slightly uncharacteristic conflict caused between them from it or maybe the inevitability of the union due to Godric’s nature of holding true to his word.  2) Continuing from the engagement, Godric and Phoebe could have a possible interaction that may lead to conflict between Godric and Briar.  3) Godric putting forth another attempt on Hadrian’s life or Hadrian, having found out about it, going for a retaliation.  4) Based on how it’s described in the bio, my guess is that Godric doesn’t know how his parents were killed, so the revelation about how, why, and by who would be an interesting development, even more so depending on who was the culprit and why.

Headcanons:  1) Godric proposed because that is what was expected of him, as the Royal Treasurer and based off of his personality. He weighed the decision carefully, and yet still regrets the decision.  2) Being the god of the Underworld and an overseer of the dead, he gave into vices of the flesh fairly easily. The cold left him feeling numb, so he always sought something (or someone) to fill the crater left behind from isolation.  3) Godric comes across as distant, from the frequent loss he has experienced in the form of death. However, he is at ease with Briar, her wit  and intelligence matching his own, and she brings a lighter, less solemn side that is often not seen by others.

Personality Traits:  Strength #1 - Godric has a very strong sense of will, holding fast to his morals, vows, and promises.  Strength #2 - His patience knows no boundaries, from being able to weigh the pros and cons of any decision, to waiting out some stubborn natures of those he is close to. Strength #3 - Godric understands the expectations of court and the public eye, and is an expert at following them with his charm and manipulations. He is an expert player at the Game. Weakness #1 - Godric has an appreciation for beauty, in art, literature, nature, as well as women. This has driven him to be tempted, though he has not yet given in to it. Weakness #2 - The royal treasurer appears cold and aloof, set apart from the rest of the court, seeming judgmental, and he is. Since he understands the rules of the game, he understands the players and knows the ins and out of court - a benefit of following the money. Weakness #3 - Beneath that facade, however, sits a heart that is numb, ready to be brought to life and be passionate. His seething rage towards loss of his parents lies dormant and is something akin to freezer burn rather than a fire, but he just needs a light and the right thing will set him off.

PARA SAMPLE

His steps echoing off the stone ways, Godric Romelo climbed the stairs. He didn’t stroke the wall as he ascended, he didn’t look back – Godric wasn’t one for those small flairs. He was pragmatic with every move. Planting one foot. Then the other. And another. Getting further from the meeting of advisors as he went higher, staring straight ahead of him as he did. His mind was still running through words he had heard and numbers he had read. They were more concrete there than the treasury ledger in his hands.

But the numbers and words were a distraction. It had been the people that had almost run through what was believed to be his immeasurable patience. Some people just wouldn't see reason if it was staring them in the face, reciting poetry at the top of its lungs. They refused to acknowledge basic sense!

It didn’t take Godric long to find his calm or to reach his floor. But he continued on towards his chambers, closing the door forcefully.

Maybe he wasn’t as calm as he thought.

But he had dealt with imbecilic counsel before. Why was this any different?

Sitting at his desk, he placed the ledger before him. Accounts and numbers were straightforward. And pigheadedness was predictable. 

People in general tended to follow a script. Those who followed the script were likely to help the order of things. There were expectations to be upheld, certain protocols. Such as attending exhausting meetings and proposing marriage to the woman you love.

Marriage. Matrimony. A legal union of two souls.

But two souls were individual for a reason.

Godric loved Briar more than anything. That was why he had started considered proposing in the first place. He’d also factored their ages, where they both were in their respective lives. Usually, people in love as much as Godric and Briar were married already. So why not?

Yet, as soon as "will you marry me" left his mouth, an unsettling feeling in blossomed in his stomach. And it only grew when she answered “yes.”

But he couldn’t deny the engagement. That would devastate Briar.

Before he could decide on a definitive course of action, a knock rapped at his door. A female servant called that the King needed to see him in his private chambers for an important matter.

Two meetings in one day.

Godric refocused. Business matters were familiar, they were straightforward, and predictable. Knowing Arthur, it would likely be another opportunity to line someone’s pockets with royal gold.

He departed his chambers, knowing the city didn’t bribe itself.

hello, I'm a bit confused. There are characters in the master list like Daphne, Clio and Euryale whose pages I just can't find. Is this a mistake or are they already taken?

It’s not a mistake, Anon :) Those are characters we have plans for but haven’t posted the bios for yet, so towards the end of the masterlist you’ll find that some of the links don’t lead to bios, and that’s why. If you’re interested in any of them, let us know! We can try to post the bio sooner rather than later

which females would you like to see on the dash most?

We would like to see any of our females on the dash! So I really really encourage you to take whoever you have most muse for because I promise you no matter who you take, you’ll have connections! That’s the beauty of Greek Mythology, but we do have a most wanted tag which can be found ( here ) and I know personally, I’d love to see apps for:

Samantha Drago [Semele] – i’d pay someone to take Dion’s mama

Evita Bristol [Echidna] – we really need mama monster around for our main plot, she’s an important character and an antagonist so that’s always fun!

Beverly Mills [Rhea] – mother of all the Olympians, you’ll get tons of plots and she’s also housing all the titans while working at the palace so that can be lots of trouble for her if she gets caught *wink wink*

Alice Witsell [Athena] – she’s pretty much running the knights and hunting down titans so we’d really really love to have her around for the plot, especially with the things we have planned

are you still active?

We still have some active members, but due to exam season and finals things have slowed up a bit, but we do hope with exams almost over that people (myself included) will be more active.
