I really do like triptychs. Itâs not done by cutting a photo into three peaces. Itâs about developments left to right or vice versa. Itâs about developing colours, patterns, luminosity, transparency, sharpness etc. etc..
I learned a lot concerning triptychs from Martin Timm, a german photographer from DĂŒssseldorf. He recommended haiku to me. Haiku coming out of buddhistic tradition is a certain way of recognition put into short three line poems. They also include elements which develop from the first to the third line. This is an excample of old Haiku master Matsuo Basho who lived in 17th century:
âOld pond A frog jumps in â The sound of waterâ
I try to improve my way of recognition and photographic work by being inspired by this philosophy. If you find this inspiring too occupy yourself even with wabi sabi.
