Requested imagine tw: depression
One of the reasons you liked Thomas was because he was observant. He would gain an indescribable amount of pleasure out if the small things in life. He could travel his fingers in your light hair for hours and not be bored. He would memorize the texture and the way it fell out of his hands towards the end. He could watch the way you talked with your hands for hours and be memorized by the tiny things you did as you spoke: the way your mouth quirked up when you talked about something you were passionate about, how you stumbled over your words, and how you would try to give as much detail as you could. You loved this about him, you just wished that today he wasn't so observant.
You regularly went into small stages where you felt utterly hopeless. It was a tearless type of constant crying. Usually it wasn't bad enough and you could get away with hiding it from Thomas. You had gotten really good at making it over the years. To the point that no one had an idea that you had ever been sad in your life. You could even hide it from the ever so observant Thomas.
You could tell that Thomas knew something was up. You weren't as enthusiastic as you usually were and you were often paying attention. He would notice these small changes. He was too much of a gentleman to ask though. He just assumed that you were tiered and would take note of it. When this kept happening for weeks he would ask you. You would supply him with the answer that you were tiered. He didn't question you further, but he knew that you were lying.
As you were taking your weekly Saturday hike with him Thomas seemed lost in thought. He finally broke the silence with a shirt sentence that left you speechless.
"I know what is wrong with you love" he said. You turned to him surprised at the sudden courage he gained.
"What is that" you asked. He stopped walking and turned towards you.
"You aren't happy. I have known you for a long time and I know when you aren't happy. You aren't happy today and you haven't been for a while have you?" He confessed. All you could manage was a small nod. You had never told anyone anyone about it and didn't know how to.
"I'm going to make sure that changes" he promised.
You felt guilty for putting him in this position. " that isn't how it works Thomas" you told him. If anybody could make you happy it was Thomas. He had made you happier than you have ever been, but he couldn't take this away.
"I know, but I will try. You need to tell me these things love" he said. You nodded. You knew that Thomas was trustworthy and you could confess to him. He smiled and kept walking down the path. You continued after him and finished your hike. You knew that Thomas was your safe place and you could trust him. It was reassuring that he would still love you even if you didn't stumble over your words, if your mouth didn't quirk up when you talked about something you were passionate about, or talked with your hands.
