Unexpected Meeting - thoragoddesssofthunder
Loki was out for a walk, feeling rather well today. That in itself was a rarity, it wasn’t often that he felt well enough to go out for walks in the bustling city of New York. In fact, it was rare for him to leave the Tower at all, but today he was changing that.
He walked down the sidewalks, past hundreds of people who barely gave him a second glance. That was the way he liked it; gods forbid someone recognized last years very own would-be conqueror among them.
He traveled down to the area known as Central Park, a wide, open field with some of the city’s most beautiful landscaping. It looked even better in the shining sun of the day. There was barely a cloud in the sky, and the temperature hovered nicely at a mild heat.
Loki ran his hand through his long black hair, turning his head to look all around the park as he continued walking. There on one of the benches, Loki’s eyes suddenly caught sight of a woman. Her long blonde hair was what really caught his attention. He squinted his eyes, stopping in his tracks and instead walking towards the woman. When he got close enough to see who it was, his stomach almost sank.
“…Thora?”
((sorry i write a lot D: what tag do you track for urself?))
Thora felt herself tense slightly when she heard somebody say her name. She knew who it was before even turning around. The deep, accented and soothing voice could belong to nobody other than Loki.
She looked around, forcing herself to offer him a smile in greeting. She felt a pang of sadness in her chest as she gazed at him. Thora hadn’t expected to be seeing him for quite some time, Central Park was the last place she’d think Loki would be. It was rare to see him out and about like this.
“Loki, I didn’t expect to see you here.”
(It’s fine, this is great!:) Sorry the reply isn’t up to scratch. I track thoragoddessofthunder.))
“Nor I you,” Loki replied to her. He stayed a respectful distance away from her, he didn’t wish to make her feel uncomfortable. Thora was the last person he expected to ever see again, especially after what he had done to her. It had been a mistake for him to treat her so poorly, and he regretted it every time the thought of her popped into his mind. He acknowledged that what happened to them was his fault, but he had never stopped loving her. He just hoped that she still had feelings for him deep down.
“I must admit, you are the last person I ever expected to see again,” he told her. “What are you doing back on Midgard?”
((o god no don’t worry at all, I just write a ton and it makes it look good, it’s not really lawl. ok i’ll make sure to add it to the tags :D))
“I’ve grown rather fond of this place. It is beautiful, is it not?” She replied, glancing around at the scenery before her. It was a beautiful summer’s day. The sun beamed down on the many Midgardians who were gathered in the park. Some were sitting with their families, enjoying a picnic while others strolled by, enjoying a nice walk. It was all very relaxing.
“What brings you here today?” She inquired, curiosity evident in her voice. “You don’t usually venture out like this, I doubt it’s for the scenery.”
“I live here now, I have for a few months now,” he replied to her with a smile. He was a bit perplexed as to why she seemed so civil with him. He could only imagine himself in her position, the offender would never make it within 10 miles of him, if they were still alive. “I needed some air to clear my head, living with the Avengers can be quite taxing on my mind at times. I get very lonely…” he finished, casting his eyes down.
He wanted to ask her so many questions, but he knew that she owed him nothing, nor did he have the right to ask her for anything, not after what happened. Yes, he still had feelings for her, and yes, he would be lying if he said he wasn’t happy to see her. However, he knew his place, he only wished that it was by her side once again.
Thora felt her heart ache for him when he admitted to being lonely, for she had felt the same way since he left. As fond as she was of Asgard, it was a lonesome place without Loki there by her side. Although it was difficult to admit out loud, Thora had already forgiven him for everything that had happened between them.
"Won't you come sit with me? It will be much easier to speak to you that way." She asks, gesturing to the vacant space beside her. She hoped Loki would agree to stay and talk, but she would understand if he didn't. She missed him more than she wanted to admit.
