❝I'm right. I'm more than right. But I was put on this earth to flatter the shit out of you, Thorfinn Rowle. You're my life mission.❞
"Oh darling you're always right. I knew the lord had sent me a compliment angel, I just didn't know it would be you."

"I’m having another strange thought."
"I think we should be friends."
"A strange thought indeed, but I like it."
Ministry Ball {20th November}
“And that’s fun?”
"Incredibly. Come on Regulus just trrrry it. For meeee."

❝Of course I do, but sometimes a little alcohol is needed. Loving you is like being a virgin again.❞
"Ah I suppose you're right. Oh Merlin Sirius you flatter me."
Ministry Ball {20th November}
“What exactly is the point of getting so intoxicated that you can’t function properly and make a complete fool out of yourself?”
"Thats exactly the point Regulus. To stop functioning properly and embarassing yourself."

"Yes well, that’s the thankful result of laced punch.”
"Which I sadly admit I had only a small part in. And yes I was trying to get you intoxicated."

The ministry man’s expression when recognition of Thorfinn finally set in was something to behold. His features contorted in mixture of annoyance and distaste, and Mary had to admit that seeing the vein on his neck pop out like that was pretty amusing, if not a tad bit unnerving. ”Ah, see? I knew dancing with a handsome bloke such as yourself would bring all the boys over. Thank you, kind sir.” With an exaggerated curtsy she turned away from the man and let out a laugh when he was out of earshot. “Are you sure cursing his drink was all you did? The fact that he almost had smoke coming out of his ears suggests otherwise.” Mary’s eyes flitted towards the punch bowl and her smile widened. “I give it a good fifteen minutes before some poor unsuspecting student ends up embarrassing themselves after a few good drinks.”
The man's face twisted as Thorfinn took Mary's hand to steal her away from the dance. He half nodded to the man, a wild grin of satisfaction painting his features from his recent tainting of the punch bowl, and the way the man reacted to seeing him once again. Thorfinn had always been terrible at first impression with important people, merely because he could not care less about what they thought of him. Two cups of spiked punch in his hand he gave one to Mary then led her off away from the man she had been unfortunately dancing with. "I think that was where the torture began. I was little, had some mischief to get out. As you know now I am on the straight and narrow path. An all around well behaved civilian. Besides these ministry officials are always steaming from one thing or another." "I hope its soon, this party is much too sober and stifled. The night only gets fun when people let loose for my amusement." He winked and raised his glass. "Cheers."

Who would you suggest, Thorrrfinn?
"Well unfortunately I have been danced out for the night...how spicy are you feeling?"

❝Get me a little more liquored up to fight the burn and you can find out tonight.❞
"But why do you always have to be drunk, don't you love me?"
Let the Games Begin ♔ 20.11.1976
In a sense, Andromeda had been incredibly lucky; despite her outgoing nature, she had never really had to make new friends, at least not as an adolescent. Her sisters, her cousins, Frank, Alice, Amelia, Edgar, Thorfinn… These were all people she had met as a child, people she had forged a bond with in her early years and that remained, to this day, the absolute closest relationships she kept with other people. Of course, she had many acquaintances, but for someone considered to be exceedingly sociable, the second Black sister had certainly made uncommonly few meaningful connections with other people as a teenager. Her best friends at age sixteen were the exact same people as her best friends as age six. You could say what you wanted to about pureblooded society, or even about Slytherins, but when it came to matters of love and loyalty, there was nothing quite like the devotion of a Black. She might have acquired a fairly unimpressive number of true friends, but once Andromeda Black decided that she really did love someone, she loved them forever.
"You need to let him go, Finny," she said, returning the sarcasm. She easily took on the role of the concerned friend - that was, after all, not a far cry away from how she occasionally actually felt about him - and nodded solemnly as she continued. “Let the man fly free. You and I both know he cannot give you what you need.” Unable to keep a straight face for much longer, Andromeda burst out into a short and melodic laughter, moving closer to curl her arm around his. “Oh, Finny,” she sighed, leaning against his shoulder. "I’ll always be around to spike the punch. You won’t ever get rid of me."
Truthfully, Andromeda couldn’t count the amount of times she had found Thorfinn hiding under a table or behind a sofa and decided to join him. That was simply them, and while most people probably did not understand exactly how their relationship worked, she never really cared. “Well, the task was to bring a date from another house, so I think you get points for that,” she said proudly, standing on her toes to give him a quick kiss on the cheek. “Besides, look at you, being all fair and democratic in how you distribute your precious time. Do you think you can find a slot in your busy schedule to save a dance for me?”
Friends became a word that had lost much of it's meaning in the young snake's world. Real friends were few and very far between, a man with more perplexity with a bottle than a human interaction. Making any type of connection merely grounded him more in the ground beneath him, a path he would rather not take, and people to care for felt like roots. Untamed roots wrapped around his ankles tying him down further into the whirlwind of self destruction the storm of his mind had become. Only more people to worry for, to make decisions for, and he avoided real connections at all cost. Unfortunately, or fortunately, a few individuals had managed to root themselves anyway and gripe into the small web of connections Rowle did have. Andromeda Black had become a weed on his tree from a very young age, simply growing more and more attached to him. Rooted somewhere in his soul was a spot for the middle child of the uptight family who enjoyed the company of his own. Bellatrix too extreme, and Cissa merely a baby, Andromeda and Thorfinn sought out one another for amusement during gatherings. The rest all seemed to just fit into place, perfectly, like a spot had been predestined for the other. All a bit too spiritual for his taste, all the same it was there. "Ah but Andie I am too far gone. My soul is merely made for his...and he just doesn't love me." Oh woe is me, a tone he often sported for jest. "Also...that butt Andie." He remarked after she had finished her well rehearsed sensible friend act. The classic grin of his creeped onto his face as the facade fell just as easily as it had been taken on. He felt her arm wrap around his own as she laughed, and he reveled a bit in the contact. Whilst the young man had quite the number of female companions, he craved a different sort of touch. He displayed his affections through touch, and therefor held those he considered important literally close to his heart. A chink in his mask of a boy who took nothing serious, yet he did nothing to remedy this chink, as it brought him a small comfort in moments when the booze did not drain out all his demons. "I always knew I could count on you. You are one of the only people who can try to keep up with me....although I am sorry to say I will always outdrink you."
"Ah yes, unity, companionship, everyone loves everyone, the whole Ministry speech. They need not worry, I'm way ahead of them on partaking in some co-mingling of the house." A cheeky wink only added to his comment. He felt a small kiss through his whiskers and could only grin more. Andromeda had always been much more important to him than any girl he bedded, and could never imagine bedding her -not that she wasn't gorgeous, she simply meant too much to him. That did not stop other people, however, from mistaking the two for a couple, a picture they often painted when together. Neither really protested, finding the confusion of other students amusing. He moved his hand from her grip to put it over her shoulder, loosely. "I am a man of values and virtue!" He scoffed loudly, holding back his laughter at how untrue the statement felt. "Hmm...I could try to pencil you in between blonde in green and redhead in white...."

I dunno. Who would want to dance with me? Even my best friend found people she likes more.
"Oh dear mate I hope you're not a sentimental drunk. But that's what alcohol is fooor baby Sev, to find new friends to dance with, forget your woes, perhaps join a circus, the possibilities are endless."
A ball, unfortunately not crystal;
— — - “I am warning you. It would be quite unwise to drink that.”
"Now I've heard that one a lot."

"Minions. Thorfinn’s minions. Thorfinnions."
"I would have many of these badges, yeah?"
"Finnions. I like it. Make posters."
"Eh....I suppose you can have some. You have to earn your unicorn badge soon."

"And now that I’m thoroughly intoxicated, I’m having a strange thought. D’yeh- Well. What would happen if I said half-bloods aren’t so bad?”
“Not that I really think so, but what would you do if I said that, yeah?”
"I would say you were very inebriated mate, just the way I like you."
footloose || the ministry ball || november 20th
Well I am.
"And why are you dancing by yourself? With moves like that, rock the dance floor dancing queen."
