āI didnāt realise dressing me was part of the jobāā His brow creased as the frames were snapped with ease.Ā ā⦠Was that necessary, sir?āĀ
āObviously not,ā he replied, kicking the destroyed frames aside.Ā āBut it canāt be bothered now, can it? Just take care of the pair youāre wearing.ā
The Evil Within ~ The ConsequenceĀ ā„
The pain was something that he expected. The same with the taste of blood on his the tip of his tongue. Heās used to the way this felt. He spent much of his time taking damage in the military, why not deal with it now from someone who was considered his boss?
He spat the blood out to the side, watching as it splattered on the ground and then he tilted his head to look up at him as he walked away. He only laughed when he spoke, finding himself laughing only out of anger. He was in it now. He was in so deep he wouldnāt be able to dig himself out of this fucking mess even if he wanted to.
āStay here for a couple days,ā Richard said, checking the time and date on his wristwatch so he could time how long Colton could last.Ā āIāll return sometime, see if youāre fit for... a reevaluation.ā
He gripped the door, pulling it shut.Ā āI enjoyed our chat, Walker.ā
The door was closed. Then it was locked. Richard mused about how long a human could survive without food or water, and wondered if that was necessary for dealing with the problematic Mr. Walker.
I've been with you this whole time

There was a brief moment of hesitancy before Thomas handed over his former pair.Ā āāAny specific reason as to why?āĀ
āPersonal preference on my part,ā he said. The pair given to him was... crushed in his fist the moment he had them, dropping them next to step on them. The lenses cracked under his weight.
āThen tell me what you plan to do to me while Iām sitting here?ā
His tone was still venomous. He couldnāt control it because he hated being controlled. He came into this place because they fixed what was broken. They paid for his medical expenses and he wasnāt going to pass up something like that when he was strapped for cash. He owed these men as much as he hated to admit it.
āBecause I donāt want to be left in the dark.ā Ā
Richard suddenly lifted his foot, slamming his heel into Coltonās face and kicking him hard. The impact was satisfying, but he wasnāt pleased.Ā āThe dark is exactly where you need to be, Walker.ā
He turned, walking away to exit the room.Ā āWhat information we divulge to you is all you should need.ā
The light was flicked off.Ā āAnd your obedience is all that we desire.ā
Ā Ā Ā Laura reached to give his hand a squeeze, hopingĀ Ā Ā Ā it would offer him some comfort.Ā ā If anything bad Ā Ā Ā happens, youāll be the first one I run to, okay? āĀ Ā Ā Ā She offered him a smile before giving a playful tug Ā Ā Ā of his arm.Ā ā I havenāt eaten yet today, want to keep Ā Ā Ā me company? ā
āPromise?ā he asked. He didnāt need an answer for that. Richard took out his cell and checked the time and day briefly before shoving it out of sight again. He had a meeting. He could skip it.Ā āI suppose I could spare some time for you,ā he grinned.Ā āIf youāll have me?ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā I am what I am
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā āsomeone Ā Ā h a s Ā to be
āYeah⦠Whereād you get these?ā Idly, he fiddled with the frames, adjusting them to sit proper on the bridge of his nose. It didnāt take much fidgeting, however. They were a perfect fit.Ā
āItās an odd story for another time,ā he lied.Ā āHand me your other pair. If itās alright with you, Iād like it if you wore these frames from this point forward.ā
āI am with you. I will always be with you now.ā
He plucked the new pair from his boss and slipped them on, blinking as his eyes adjusted. There was no difference in the prescription.Ā āāWell?āĀ
Only Richard found amusement in this. HandingĀ āThomasā a piece ofĀ āJosephā.Ā āThe same, Iām guessing?ā
āI⦠already have a pair of my own, sir.āĀ
āIām well aware,ā he said.Ā āBut humor me, for a moment.ā
