Azura certainly wasn’t a stranger to sleepless nights and unpleasant dreams, thoughts and memories that kept her up in the night. This man’s business was none of her own, but she still felt as though they had this in common, especially when he commented that he’d rather not delve into details. He mentioned being a tactician: to what degree he had worked she didn’t know, but presumably memories of war were included in the thoughts that plagued him. She was all too familiar with bearing things by herself, things that she preferred not to share only seconds into a conversation with someone she had never met before.
She had learned to make her way around the confusing city streets of the sector where building locations changed, and had become a bit familiar with the selections in the shopping district: sharing this information with someone new only seemed right. She was getting hungry, after all, and there were a variety of interesting dishes sold by some of the vendors she wanted the chance to taste. “Please don’t worry; you needn’t share the details. I’d be glad to give you a little tour of sorts, though, at least to start you off.”
“I’m sure a tactician like yourself will be able to map things out easily, right? Currently we’re in the fifth sector. You can shop for necessities here, or more extravagant things… but why don’t we start by getting something to eat?”
He’s still mildly apprehensive of the entire thing; not to say that he held any sort of distrust towards her, but rather, he was simply... feeling hollow. Perhaps the constant gnawing that had been done to his psyche was seeping into his mind here, but he would not have it. This woman was simply being friendly and generous; Robin would not turn down the kindness of another in his current predicament.
Eventually, a sigh leaves him, perhaps more an indication of his current tiredness than anything else. With any luck, she would tire of his lagging behind and simply leave him to his own devices; sleeping on the ground sounded more appealing by the moment. His body felt too heavy, as if something foreign and unwanted had infiltrated every pore of his skin. The feeling lingered just a bit too long, as Robin felt himself halt in his tracks, needing to catch breath he never needed to before.
“Yes, food... would be nice. I’m sorry, really, I’m just still weary from this unfamiliar place. I certainly feel much weaker since my arrival here, so perhaps that may be another factor in my lack of sleep.” It also likely wasn’t, but perhaps it would provide some peace of mind to lie to himself. “So this is something of a retail sector, is it? Interesting... I’m sure that many of the food vendors along the streets will be willing to provide free samples to try and get our continued business. Perhaps we can sample the local delicacies to that end.”
That, and he had no idea if they even took gold here.
