Photographic Highlights -
jeff, 2010
When I think of Jeff, this is the image that immediately comes to mind. To be honest, I haven’t photographed him much. As much as I want to, there is something about keeping a little bit of my life just for me where I don’t necessarily need a photograph to hold onto. I have him to hold onto enough. Which has led to me really only photographing Jeff properly a few times a year. This is from our first vacation together in Costa Rica. To say it was magical is kind of an understatement. By the end of the trip I knew that this was the man I would be spending the rest of my life with. Funny thing about this portrait… we spent about a half hour in this pool under an awesome waterfall. We were getting packed up, to get back onto our horses when I realized I hadn’t taken any photographs. So, I made him get back in the water just so I could take this one portrait that was the last shot on a roll of film I had loaded in my Mamiya. It’s become one of my favorite portraits I’ve taken, and my favorite of him.

“Let’s start with this statistic: You are delicious. Be brave, my sweet. I know you can get lonely. I know you can crave companionship and sex and love so badly that it physically hurts. But I truly believe that the only way you can find out that there’s something better out there is to first believe there’s something better out there. What other choice is there?” — Greg Behrendt, He’s Just Not That Into You
