Stopping The Becca and Jackie Appiah Nonsense
[email protected]– Of all the celebrity ambassadors none has suffered so many backlashes than the two pretty women whose only offense was to respond to a call to serve the Ministry of Youth and Sports in the just ended road to Brazil. With these signs written on the wall prior to the ambassadors leaving the country, it was expected that their call up will suffer even more damning stories, as…

Interesting; Electoral commission of Ghana
From Franklin Cudjoe of IMANI GHANA's wall
Professor H Kwasi Prempeh , shared this rather interesting piece about Ghana's Electoral Commission's 'defence' against the petition filed by the opposition NPP in the Suprecme Court. Happy Reading: "Reviewing the EC's Answer to the Presidential Election Petition filed by the NPP presidential candidate, my good friend Professor Kwaku Asare notes the following astounding disclosure in Paragraph 6 of the Answer: "Respondent says that the initial provisional figure it announced of registered voters was 13,917,366. After the conduct of registration of Foreign Service officials, students abroad on government scholarships, other Ghanaians working abroad in international organizations and the late registration of service personnel returning from international peacekeeping duties, it announced a figure of 14,158,890 registered voters." This means a difference of 241,524 registered voters from these overseas sources!!! Keep in mind that the EC has refused, thus far, to implement ROPAA, the law that allows it to register Ghanaian citizens living abroad and enable them to vote in our general elections. On Election Day, December 7, I wrote on my Wall to protest the EC's persistent refusal to extend registration and voting to Ghanaians like me who live abroad. Yet the EC now claims that, without implementing ROPAA, it was able to register 241,524 Ghanaians from the restricted foreign sources, namely Foreign Service officials, students abroad on government scholarships, other Ghanaians working abroad in international organizations, and the late registration of service personnel returning from international peacekeeping duties. Even taking all these various sources together, 241,524 is a staggering number, absolutely incredulous. We simply cannot and must not take the EC's word for it. We must know the identities of the persons who presumably made it onto this special list. I am also curious to know how many Ghanaians have been registered from these restricted sources in recent elections. Before it embarked on its restricted foreign registration exercise, the EC provided all of the political parties a copy each of the Total Potentially Registrable Ghanaians abroad, and the EC informed the parties that only those categories of persons on that list qualifed to be registered. That list, according to an official of one of the parties privy to the EC document, put the number of foreign-based registrable (non-ROPAA) Ghanaians at roughly 5,000 (yes, about Five Thousand). Now, after the fact, the EC is saying, in the heat of litigation, that, without implementing ROPAA, it still managed to register 241,524 Ghanaians from overseas sources who qualified to be registered (outside ROPAA)--and who presumably voted on election day. This simply does not add up. Something just does not smell right here."
Because of NPP Kufuor shouldn't act as a stateman?
I strongly feel there are still people in the NPP who want to fuel tensions in the party.
I heard Frank Agyekum on the radio yesterday and I was so surprised he did comments in his interview alleging the demonstration in front of the house of the former President John Kufuor, as been organized by leaders in the NPP and he indeed went further to use strong words to describe the demonstration held by some youth groups in the party.
What did that say? Well to me I think, the decision by Kufuor attending the inauguration of the president was not well accepted by some leaders in the party, hence people organizing people for that demonstration.
As a former president of the country, I do not think it was wrong for him to attend, he had ruled the country for 8 years, one of the country’s greatest leaders and a such he needed to be part of the great feat though the party took to the issue to court.
My advice to the New Patriotic party
The Ghanaian have a funny character, they are emotional, they are religious, they are so forgiving. The NPP has a lot of work to do with their communication and I do not know how they plan for this. First, communication after the electoral rigging was funny, their general secretary put out some stuffs, and the party campaign manager also came with his, in all there were a lot of stuffs said which were inconsistent, now their procession to court was on a certain Thursday then Friday to some last day of December of some sort. The whole attitude of the party has left the supporters to have a last resort, the court. Believing they have leaders so good in law they cant fail in that attempt, and woe if they fail that one too, because interestingly they had charged all die be die as a mantra, which after the elections has proved they keep losing. Now people after watching the inauguration of the president are been quite sympathetic to the NDC and John Mahama, I hope the new president is not sick as speculated that with time will win some sympathy and if that goes on, Nana will be left alone soon as the fat kid fighting over cake. I suggest a new campaign message and managed by some decent people be put out to sustain the fight for their course in all stages of the process or else soon they will lose it.
God bless Ghana
God bless Ghana always, in spite of our differences we always stand tall
Nana Addo's statement on his petition to the supreme court
The joke that made my night. Two Ghanaians, one lived all his London, the other all his life in the states and they get on an argument
Franklin Cudjoe of IMANI Ghana makes some suggestions I quite agree with.
Merry Christmas
I Have been out of reach, but tumblr I am back and wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a prosperous new year
I believe in the ideals of the New Patriotic Party, but as a country, I find it so difficult to understand why if you do not belong to some one's party they see you an enemy.
I have called most my friends in NDC and congratulated them, pending the supreme court intervention by the NPP.
I keep asking questions, isn't it healthy that we all can not belong to one party?
I am happy to be seeing this democratic stage in our history, but others are just passive
