This photo always cheers me up a bit. It’s a front-page article from 1955 about Christine Jorgensen, one of the first women to have sex-reassignment surgery.

Since the text is a bit small and I couldn’t find a larger copy, here’s what the small blurb says:

This article is 58 years old, and it’s more respectful of Christine’s pronoun choices and name than some publications are today. It makes me happy to see a newspaper be respectful of a trans person’s choice of name and pronouns like that :3

I'm gonna add on actually. Like what's so frustrating about the take is like c!Techno says this because he doesn't know. Like it's a flaw of his character to make assumptions, think his opinion is right, and claim things without knowing or attempting to know the facts (the fact he doesn't attempt to know either is a flaw). He also will, when presented with the facts, stick with his opinion. So to agree with someone who was not there for the elections, was not there when c!Schlatt exiled two of the founding members, says "oh yeah he was elected fairly" is really frustrating.

i also just realised, isnt it so weird how hes always been so hostile and critical of lmanberg but.. didnt really seem to care that much about c!schlatt? like he was just there because "government bad" and wanted to take down a country, but then he listened to his orders and defended him with the "at least he was fairly elected" (despite it not even being true)

but lmanberg? the way hes always called c!tommy selfish, how he implies lmanberg is just a government and not a group of people trying to live their lives, implied they never cared about him despite the fact they did and he was the one who didnt care, how he doesnt acknowledge he hurt them when he killed them or destroyed their homes. a reminder:

1: schlatt won by pooling the votes with a party he hadn’t been a part of. the people did not vote for schlatt and did not get the opportunity to Knowingly account for the possibility of his election with their votes.

2: the very first thing that schlatt did was Yes exile his political rivals, but he’d Killed wilbur. he’d ordered tubbo to take them out, he’d ordered his hired muscle to shoot them, and wilbur lost his second life.

3: his “Manburg: To Do” list, which included taxing specifically and Only niki (a citizen that he would repeatedly discriminate against and unfairly target up until her eventual expulsion from the country), and “drain all lakes and kill all wildlife” (which he canonically went through with, causing a famine for his people, as was soft-canonized by niki on twitter).

tubbo was his Second public execution, the only person he was missing was tommy (and he’d told tubbo to go after tommy in particular after wilbur had been shot), he “won” the election by lying and cheating, he starved his people and abused his power to harass ordinary citizens. and yet he’s Better than pogtopia, Better than tommy and tubbo, because. Because?

also “dream didn’t get a trial :(” when 2/3rds of the server had been there putting him in jail is spiritually the same as “tubbo didn’t get an election >:(” when every single l’manberg citizen had been there when tubbo was given the presidency and voiced their approval.

- anything related to crouching. slowly going up to someone while crouching to be sneaky. spam crouching in “friend?? friend!!” crouching and looking down because you’re sad :(

- punching up in the air enthusiastically like “hey let’s go!!” punching the blocks underneath you rapidly as if moving your hands around in conversation. affectionately punching other players like you would pull someone’s ear.

- i dunno if this is just my group but full netherite players criting each other with axes and swords because it barely does any damage and it’s fun

- aggressive spinning to goof off

- almost-but-not eating something to make obnoxious noises

- that thing streamers/youtubers do when you can tell they’re staring at themselves in f5 to talk to an audience

- also, when you can TELL someone has paused to look at you in optifine zoom

- forcing yourself into swim/fly mode on land for maximum silly mode.

- waiting for someone to find where you are so you’re like. in a body of water going straight up and down with a riptide trident until they do. or just flying up and down with elytra

- getting in a boat on land and spinning in circles like “hey I’m bored let’s go”

- slowly swapping out tools either as a threat, or to dramatically reveal what item you have

- putting armor on as a threat, or taking it off as a “I’m relaxed” thing

- playing hot potato with a junk item neither player wants and chasing each other around with it

- i just think running around with a loaded crossbow out is really funny. you look like an oblivion npc

- loading up a trident throw but Not letting it go and holding it back as a threat

- rapidly flicking levers/opening chests/pressing buttons/etc to annoy the other person, especially while they’re talking

- closing a door in someone’s face

- playing a block in front of someone. they break it. you place it again. this continues for two more minutes

- jumping down at someone from a higher place like “HI I’M HERE NOW!”

- sitting in cauldrons. become soup.

- music disc dancing. moving around as much as possible for pigstep and slow crouching to cat

- being offended/sad etc and digging down a few blocks to sulk

- anything along the lines of a player taking time to make something for a joke. someone says “let’s talk” and the other busts out a crafting table and crafts a stair so they can pretend to sit
