I have the highest respect for actors that have gotten over, or perhaps never gotten into, the pretentious mentality that certain roles are beneath them, and just go all in on shit they think will be fun
Like David Tennant is a highly skilled Shakespearean actor, who has every right to look down on Ducktales, but instead he said "I'm gonna play the fuck outta scrooge mcduck, and it's gonna be a good fucking time"
People keep saying Sylvie betrayed Loki and yes she did in a way but I think Sylvie giving up her entire life’s purpose and going with Loki would’ve felt wrong. They’re in different stages of their development, Loki has already seen where his actions originally took them and he didn’t want to repeat the same mistakes, he was already developing by the end of the first episode. He no longer really had a purpose and was trying to find one within the TVA and his original plan seemed to be that he was going to try and infiltrate it and take over and rule it himself, he was probably regressing because it was all he knew what to do. Then when he met Sylvie he decided to help her on her mission to destroy the TVA but developed feelings for her, which became bigger than destroying the TVA so it makes sense that it didn’t mean as much to him. Plus through his development he didn’t want to destroy the timeline and create more war and suffering, he put all that behind him. Sylvie didn’t have the perspective Loki had, the mission was always her priority and she wasn’t willing to take anything else into consideration unlike Loki who wanted to consider the consequences of their actions.
Which if we get back to my point, Sylvie betrayed Loki but it made sense, if she chose him it would have made less sense. I think they have been trying to trick us into thinking that Sylvie is the more developed between the two, but she isn’t. But she needed to push Loki away and she needed to kill Kang, even though both actions haven’t brought her any closer, I don’t think that giving up her life’s work for Loki, who she has only known for a few days, would have ever been an option. She still has a lot of developing to do.
Even after getting "betrayed" by Sylvie, Loki kept talking to Mobius as "we opened the multiverse" . He didn't put the blame solely on Sylvie. Boy still loves her.
I'm beginning to think that the Marvel writers are incapable of letting Loki have lasting happiness
Loki and Sylvie: *very clearly very much in love*
Other characters in the show: *talk about Loki and Sylvie being in love*
The creative team behind the show: *talk repeatedly about Loki and Sylvie being in love*
Loki and Sylvie: *kiss*
Loud teens on the internet:
cannot wait for sylvie to come back next season after betraying loki after he bared his heart out to her, nervous and insecure, about to apologise, only for loki to rush up to her and hug her tight and whisper some version of "you think i love you so little a betrayal would change my mind about you?"
Graphic description of myself after 6 weeks of Loki
I see all these posts about wanting Mobius back in season 2 and I totally agree, but the anti-sylvie sentiment behind some of the posts makes me sad, she's a damn cool character and the betrayal was just a priorization of her lifelong mission over some dude she met three days ago it takes time to change your entire world view okay
oh?????
in hindu mythology the only thing that stopped a rampaging kali was shiva, her husband, lying down on the ground unarmed and unresisting, and her stepping on him. out of love, she stopped before she could hurt him
anyway.
sylki fans: it’s a great pairing you antis are just mean lokius fans: noo marvel did it only because they’d rather put a selfcest hetero pairing in their movie than literally anything else me, who only wants to get some pure friendship representation in media rather than seeing film companies making everything a romance:
