PLEASE HELP SAVE STAR WARS BATTLEFRONT BY NOT BUYING IT! While I am enjoying Star Wars Battlefront, you may want to hold up on getting it. Why?
Pros: To say the graphics and attention to every little detai are stunning would be an understatement. What they have achieved should set the standard for photorealistic gameplay. The forrest moon of endor feels like you are in the movie, in the snow on hoth people leave detailed footprints, and you can see scratches in the stormtrooper helmets of your teammates. It is fun, and I mean juicy juicy fun; the variety in multiplayer from huge FPS multiplayer land maps to air combat (both within the larger maps and a dedicated air multi player) has a little something for everyone. The system used for abilities like grenades and bowcasters is very balanced so you never feel like your being deprived, the developers had the perfect recipe for the funnest game I've played in 30 years of gaming!
BUT
Cons: After you spend $60 on the vanilla version or $70 on the deluxe the season pass for additional content (or the rest of the game as I see it) is another $50. Now the game is so damn gorgeous I almost wouldn't mind but..... It doesn't fully work. What I mean by that is Battlefront is a game that NEEDS multiplayer, it is both the meat and the potatoes. Sadly as has happend with EA and DICE before in the Battlefield franchise the multiplayer game is plauged with server side issues. You are running through this beautiful ultra realistic world with moss so detailed that you can almost smell the forrest floor. Suddenly without warning a laser blast passes in front of your face striking the tree next to you. You see the smoke coming from the trunk. You turn at this point completely immersed in how damn real it all feels, blood boiling ready to engage then all of a sudden BAM................ Rubber band lag, you’re suddenly 10' back from where you were, trying to run through an acid trip but unable to leave your point of origin. Once or twice during a 20 minute match wouldn't be that bad but it is nearly every couple of minutes, and has both Xbox One and PS4 owners taking to the forums. The people that have already bought the game have no voice, they have our money, it is you the undecided consumer that can force EA to invest in it's server infrastructure by holding off and letting them know how much you would like to buy it, when it's finished. So please if you game, pass this on and help save a great game!
