❖ STORY ❖
The martial world has long since granted you reprieve from the past. Once a frightened child in a world vaster than you’ve ever known, you have since carved out a name for yourself in this realm of martial artists.
Now a wandering vigilante of renown, your name has been uttered by many a storyteller - yet no tale is without tribulation. Swept up in something much larger than yourself, forces of the imperial court now crack down upon you, the ordered world closing around you like a fist.
Your skills haven't failed you before, yet this is unlike anything you've ever faced. Now's your chance to build new relationships, learn to trust those around you, and find allies in this world turned hostile.
Journey through the martial world, delve into your own past, escort your charge to safety, entangle yourself in an imperial plot, save a few people, kill some others, try to differentiate friend from foe - preferably before your luck runs out.
❖ CHARACTERS ❖
Xia An'er [夏安儿] - [10 | She/Her] Your charge in a simple escort mission. Though a little noble lady with danger following at her tail, she’s positive, sincere, and exceptionally cheerful to boot. Doesn’t quite have a martial realm moniker yet, but she really wants one.
Zhao Ning [赵宁] - [24 | He/Him] [RO] A mentor of your charge. A reserved young scholar with an air of melancholy, he’s a fish out of water in the martial world; nonetheless, he remains courteous and polite. Though his manners are impeccable, you barely know anything about him. He seems oddly familiar at times.
Meiduo Cairen [梅朵才仁] - [29 | He/Him, She/Her] [RO] She saved your life once. A physician first and martial artist second, he approaches his work with stern diligence, and people with gentle humility and humor. A pacifist and buddhist at heart, he always extends a helping hand to others - always saves, and never kills. Known as the “Temple in Bloom” [满寺花].
Lin Jingshu [林静姝] - [22 | She/Her] [RO] A young, straightforward spitfire with a heart of gold. She’s got the nimbleness of a swift and the temper of a raging torrent, with a fighting style to match both. Naturally blunt to a fault, she rarely resorts to tact or diplomacy in her dealings with others. Known as the “Thousand-Blades Soar as Wild Swifts” [千刀狂飞燕].
Nalan Ruoyun [纳兰若云] - [37 | She/Her] [RO] Few know her real name or face - you’re one of the few with this rare privilege. Under her elegant, soft-spoken mask, she’s cynical, pragmatic, and almost cold-hearted. With keen insight, extraordinary intelligence, and almost terrifying dedication, she ranks among the elite of the underground intelligence world, her intellect nearly unmatched. Known as the “Spring Night Rain” [春夜雨].
Yang Qingyi [羊青逸] - [42 | He/Him] [RO] A smooth-talking, sly old goat - according to his own words. He looks the part of an experienced, worldly martial artist, and has a flippant, wild attitude to match. You’ve been acquainted for quite a while; he's still got the bad habit of calling you “kid”. Known as the “Green Python Who Strangles Mountains” [青蟒绞山].

❖ UPDATES ❖
Note: if you somehow found this, congrats!! It’s still bare bones here, and this post will continue to be updated. WIP is in very early stages and everything is being built up right now - even the WIP name may change. Feel free to shoot questions my way!
I tthink you extend the word and narrative too much try to explain everything and walking in circles instead going to the main plot. I think that great but also risqué, i honestly afraid you will get burnout like other IF author who try to make long detailed story. I honestly hope I'm wrong an this stir never get abandoned. Stay healthy
That's honestly fair! It's a critique I've heard before with my plot heavy writing, haha. I honestly do try to shave things down, but I guess it's just a force of habit; thanks for the criticism though!
Said with love in my heart (lying) but I hate writing in English sometimes. There aren't even really multiple ways to refer to yourself to denote where you place yourself compared to who you're speaking to!
Hey y'all! Quick update - I'm working on finishing the 2 different opening routes first, then touching up/finishing the prologue - you'll get to finally meet Zhao Ning. They'll hopefully both be uploaded by the end of this week. Happy end of September, everyone!
Sorry y'all I disappeared off the face of the planet for a bit, as y'all might of noticed - Job Search Hell Got To Me. In any case, I'm picking it all back up, and hopefully I can have this to show relatively soon! Thank y'all for waiting!
Hiiii, I love Wuxia worlds and for that i can't wait to play this story!
I have a question tho, i tried to search it just in case you already answered it but i didn't found it, can you have mxm/fxf relationship with the ROs? Or you can only be straight?
I asked since there are some wuxia games out there where you can only be straight and before i before to know what to expect beforehand or if its better for me to not starting it
Thank you so much for your attention, have a good day
There's no way I'd write anything as strictly straight, no worries about that! Every RO is canonically queer and open to the gender of their romantic partners, and Meiduo Cairen is genderfluid herself.
As an author are you looking for particular feedback on your work?
If there are any typos or bugs I'd really like to know them!
As for other sorts of feedback - this IF is in a very early WIP stage and I've just got the customization set up, essentially, but constructive feedback is always welcome!

Here's how the layering for women's outfits would go for the Tang Golden Era period (盛唐).
For those who actually wear Hanfu out these days, we usually forgo the petticoat, or add some straps to it and wear it inside the shirt to hide the straps. For the outer skirt (qixiong), a lot of shops are also adding straps to them just to make it easier on everyone. I mentioned before in a post, without the straps you're always at risk of a wardrobe malfunction 😬
I need to buy a pair of lantern pants...those look so comfy. Some people will pair lantern pants with a cute blouse for a more modern twist on the look, easy to move around in and go out for a nice day :D
