The picture was conceived to depict Donnie. Because his warm interactions with Raph and the fact that Raph often protects him warms my heart (non-shipping). But I realized one truth. Raph is ready to do anything for all his brothers. No matter how much he argues with Leo and Mikey, he worries about them too. So there you have it.

A big part of Al's story and her dynamic with the guys is just. Being a normal person.

She doesn't feel normal because of her struggles with mental illness and general not fitting in, but compared to the turtles and co., she's pretty damn normal.

And because of that, she helps the guys feel like normal guys. She has no ties to any sort of crazy magic or sci-fi nonsense, no ties to any big crime organizations, nothing. She's just a girl with trauma and issues because of said trauma that she's working on while in New York. They don't have to be heroes or saviours for her, they just get to be her friend. They get to be people.

And vice versa, the guys (especially Raph), make her feel extraordinary. Like she's special and matters, maybe for the first time since she was a child. She gets to be their escape from their crazy world and she feels like she's actually important and that her life has meaning because of that. Because of them.

I love monster hunter and monster hunter stories so I've been trying to assign each of the TMNT characters a specific monster.

So far this is what I've got:

Raph - Rathalos

Donnie - Ruby Basarios

Mikey - Seregios

Casey - Gammoth

Splinter - Soulseer Mitzusune

Shredder - Magnamalo/Scorned Magnamalo

Hun - Rajang

Karai - Nargacuga

And because I think it's a lot of fun to match characters to monsters, I'd love to match your TMNT oc with a monster as well!
