I went to a Japanese garden with my family today and I considered meditating near one of the fountains but the Canadian geese are fighting each other for nesting spots this time of year so frankly the soundscape was not ideal for meditation.
We have geese at the apartments I live in. They like our pond. One has taken to trying to build a nest on the top of our car park covering. The maintenance guy has removed it twice and the goose keeps coming back. They fight in the parking lot all the time.
Ive been having a day so to cheer myself up here is a picture of my pup asleep on my lap. Yes she snorts in her sleep
I go to a scots-irish clan meeting every year. One year they had a bunch of nazis show up and try to essentially take over the event, they sat right at the front of the bleachers by the announcers area for the clan walks with shirts that had not nice words on them so in every photo of the event they were in the back with those shirts. The next year everyone got free shirts with the picture of the president for that years meeting, a black scots-irish man whose wife is jewish. You had to year the shirt to sit in the bleachers section by the announcers area. I don't think I have ever seen them again.

I mean, as someone who as worked in a zoo, this is fairly true.
Obvious disclaimer that you shouldn't have wild animals as pets.
But like, cheetahs are the only large cats that keepers will do free contact with. Hell, even most small cats don't get free contact. (Because small cats can be VICIOUS. They'll have a baby pallas cat wearing thicker gloves than when handling an owl. Because small cats can just be vicious.)
Like I think the only other cat at our zoo where I've seen free contact with was servals? Because I know they've used servals in shows to demonstrate their natural jumping ability. But I know servals can sometimes have a mean temper as well. Meanwhile they'll do the cheetah run and afterwards put the mic by the cheetahs and it's just like an engine with them purring. It's fascinating to watch when the message in every other large animal is "no free contact because it's dangerous even when they're born in captivity".
Legit if any wild animal could be adapted to a pet it would be cheetahs lmao. Only problem is they can be skittish and very anxious and that's why they're often raised around dogs in zoos to gain confidence.

Small Fandom Problems
Sometimes being part of a small fandom is hard. I would love to see fan art of certain characters, just for the purpose of making fan fiction about said characters easier to write without having to open my book and go to the exact page they describe them each time I want to. I would draw myself but I have the skills to draw stick figures and that is about it.

Oh, and since I have your attention: z-library (books and textbooks) and sci-hub (gatekept scientific journal articles.) I just ripped a textbook for class off z-library and snatched a required reading from sci-hub. Life is good and education should be accessible at every stage and station of life.
information wants to be free
sometimes i feel like people forget autism is a disability. and thatâs not a bad thing! iâm all for disability acceptance, im proud of my disabilities. but i feel like we forget autism can hurt.
it hurts that i have to put more time and energy into socializing than others.
it hurts when i need to move so bad, usually cause im overwhelmed by either my surroundings or emotions, that i thrash and hurt myself.
it hurts that i cant be in places that are too loud or too bright, which on bad days can be as simple as a small, quiet noise or dim lights.
it hurts that i struggle to tell when im hungry, thirsty, tired, etc. so i canât properly take care of myself. it doesnât help my insomnia and i get very nauseas and get UTIs.
i 100% believe in autism acceptance. i donât want a cure. but i also want us the acknowledge that it can hurt. it doesnât mean my entire life will hurt, but some parts will. and i want a community where we can see both sides, see the hurt, and celebrate it anyway.
Sometimes a Chihuahua makes an excellent rubber duck. There is this thing in coding where is something isn't working you explain your code to an inanimate object(a rubber duck is usually the example) and through the process of explaining it out loud you figure out the problem. This happens cause a lot of weird brain stuff that I do not have all the knowledge about.
When writing and I'm stuck in an area I use my own method of a rubber duck. My Chihuahua. She loves to listen to me talk, I've literally talked her to sleep one time, and explaining my problem out loud is very helpful. In cases where she doesn't want to put up with my antics a stuffie or two can fill the role

1. 'It's fiction, it doesn't need to make sense!'
2. 'I didn't account for the rotation of the planet and how that affects the constalations while my characters stargazed at different times of year, I have failed as a writer, and this entire thing is trash'

I have started something I call my invasive wips. It is just a notebook that I jot down all the ideas that pop up in my head. The important part is it isn't digital and I keep it at my desk only so I cant casually flip to it when say I'm sitting out in the living room watching TV and writing on the laptop, or writing on my tablet.

I thought the ship wasnât canon?â bro weâre talking about fictional characters, who donât actually exist in real life, from a media that focuses solely on fictional events that are not real either. so what if these two made-up characters didnât kiss in their source material? they have lots of nasty gay sex on archive of our own and thousands of novel length slow burn enemies to lovers fics written about them. the fanon content at this point far exceeds the whole canonical franchise. the problem isnât âitâs not canonâ the problem is that you donât allow yourself to let go of canon and enjoy the wonder of fan contents that are just as good / valid

I used to write a ton of fanfic on Fanfic back in highschool and middle school, almost a good 2/3rds of my stories I can no longer find(I have lost the log-in info so can't long-in to my account). I'm almost positive they have been deleted because they contained two guys kissing in them. Not even doing anything explicit, just kissing. Censorship is real which is why I will always support Ao3.
