We'll be showing Throw Trucks and promoting For My Brother at the Casual Connect IDEA Showcase this year in San Francisco, July 22-24!
We’re excited to announce the development of our second title, For My Brother, a sidescrolling puzzle platformer with original music by Machinae Supremacy.
The game follows a girl as she ventures into a magical forest, battling the forces of nature and putting her very humanity at stake to protect her younger brother’s future. Taking inspiration from Megaman, Shadow of the Colossus, and Metroid, the game will offer gorgeous platform terrain puzzle levels and intense boss fights that take advantage of your surroundings. With each boss defeated, Sister’s abilities will increase, allowing her new ways of navigating her environment.
Back the project on Kickstarter to get your copy of the game as well as great swag like posters, t-shirts, pendants, and even plushies!
Announcing our second game!
We'll be posting updates about For My Brother in the new company blog, please follow over there for news regarding our other games.
Steve Johnson wrote an article featuring Throw Trucks in the Mercury News.
For a glimpse of an evolving technology that promises to shake video gaming to its foundation, check out "Throw Trucks With Your Mind."
Unlike most video games, it doesn't rely solely on a mouse or joystick. Instead, its players also don a headset that enables them to hurl trucks or other virtual objects simply by thinking.
And that's just for starters. Advocates of so-called neurogaming say the concept in a few years will incorporate a wide array of physiological factors, from a player's heart rate and hand gestures to pupil dilation and emotions. Moreover, they envision many such games being developed to improve the health, brainpower and skills of those playing them.

I think I forgot to post this earlier!
People frequently don’t understand how many revisions and how much thought can go into designing even a fairly simple character!
Gale, the dancer, started out looking like this:
While we liked the body shape, the rest wasn’t working. She wasn’t nearly as quirky as the other characters, so we more or less went on an adventure to find out her personality. She was briefly a princess, but we hated it, so we went princess > fairy princess > bugcatcher > dancer somehow.
We also wanted her to have a different color palette than the other characters. I really wanted to do her hair purple, too, but couldn’t get it looking good and we really wanted the purple/yellow palette so she ended up blonde. I think she bleaches/dyes it though. :D
Lastly and probably most importantly, I didn’t want her personality to be just “girl” and after reading this article I removed any pointless “female” signifiers from her, such as hearts, flowers, bows, and excessive makeup. You can see them vanish back when I was doing thumbnails, about the time she turns from a bugcatcher into a dancer.
Throw Trucks With Your Mind!
Oh how much things can change in one year!

Matchmaking Alpha!
The latest patch adds matchmatching to the game! What this means for you is that now it's super easy to start games and play against other people through the internet!
Note that this function is considered "alpha" right now; it's quite basic and you may encounter some bugs at this stage. However, it is more than ready for testing, so here's how it works:
Matchmaking is available on the main menu!
The game settings will be used if no game is found, to create a new game which people can then join. Selected settings will currently NOT filter or limit games you can find. If a game is available, you will be placed into the existing game regardless of selected game settings.
Once you hit find game, the game will enter a loading screen and attempt to place you into an existing game. This shouldn't take more than a minute or so at absolute most, if it is working correctly!
If you want to arrange large games before this week's playtest, try organizing with your friends or posting to our Facebook wall!
Day three PAX East photos! We had a really great time and we're all super tired and lost our voices but it was great meeting everybody! We even got some really good feedback on the game. Looking forward to getting back to work tomorrow but first, looking forward to sleeping.
