Please remember that being vegan is a privilege, and that judging anyone for not adopting such a lifestyle makes you a gaping asshole.

Damn this hit me hard , I needed this talk as a little girl. s/o to her mom for destroying the self hate in such a great way
This shit almost made me cry lol
Love this
You know I always think about how Iām gonna address this problem with my kids especially my daughters. I know if someone sat me down and told me things like that at that age it would had spared me so much trouble. The way she handled it was perfect especially because its not the easiest talk to have. I love this ā¤
Crying cuz itās unbelievable we have to tell our kids this and at such a young age they are perceptive of anti-Blackness
I want to rant about something but before I do, I just want to let everyone who is reading this to know that I am not trying to anger or offend anyone and if I do then I apologize. However this has been weighing on my mind all day and I just really want to get my own thoughts out. So most of you may already know (and if you donāt, Iām going to tell you) that an officer who was sitting in an unmarked car was shot and died from his injuries. The officer, Brian Moore, was Caucasian and the suspect was African American. Now Iād like to know where the outrage is at for Brian Moore? Whenever the roles are reversed and itās an African American that gets killed by a Caucasian, Iāll see people rioting and posting about it all on social media that itās racist and a hate crime. Is this not the same thing? Isnāt shooting an innocent Caucasian person just as wrong as shooting an innocent African American? Again, Iām not trying to anger anyone but this is what I think of the whole situation. You can leave comments if you want but please respect my opinion just like I will respect yours.Ā
//Iām actually really nervous about posting this because I know how some of you are and I know that you will jump down anyoneās throat if their opinion isnāt something that you agree with//
But what would people be protesting? Is there any doubt in your mind that this police officer is going to get justice? Do you not know that the police department and the prosecution will not rest until they get this police officer justice?Ā
Iām almost too exhausted to really sit here an defend why people get so outraged when black people are murdered by police but this post is upsetting me so I canāt let it go.
No. It is not the same thing.Ā
Of course it is sad that this officer was murdered. I absolutely will not deny that. However, his murder is not apart of a system that is unjust towards him. Brian Moore was a police officer. In taking that job you acknowledge the possibility that you may die, or be hurt in that role. It is the risk you take in becoming a cop.
Tell me, what did black people do to take on that risk? Just being born black means that thereās a possibility of being hurt or killed by people meant to protect you?
How can you really make this comparison?Ā
Black people are viewed as being dangerous and as suspects just because of the color of our skin. If it was just an anomaly then there wouldnāt be outrage, but there have literally been thousands of cases of black people being murdered and not attaining justice just because someone thought that they were āscaryā. People in positions of authority to us, have been killing black people with no punishment. Black people have been fighting against police brutality for a long time now. This is an issue that has been discussed in the black community for decades. Perhaps this is a new issue for you but, it is by no means new.Ā
It is the reason that millions of black parents tell their kids from an early age how to act around police. Because they are scared that their children will be killed.Ā
The justice system is incredibly unfair to black people. Is it unfair to cops? Brian Moore was hailed as a hero on the cover of every newspaper today. He is being hailed as a hero in all of the news on television. Have you seen a single negative thing written about him on the media?Ā
But when black people are killed by police they are thugs. And when black people get mad about getting killed by police they are thugs. People go on tv and debate their character and whether or not they deserved it. Police say that they were scared for there life, and a large portion of the country believes it because people believe cops, and they believe that black people are scary. The cop gets off on all charges because the jury also believes that black people are scary.Ā
And the next time a cop pulls over a black person and they make a move towards their pocket, the cop quickly shoots them. Because for their whole lives they have learned that black people are scary, and in that moment they are sure that this black person (just like us all) is scary. But when they stand over their dead body they realize it was only a wallet, and the next day they tell the media that they were scared for their life, and the whole thing starts all over again.Ā
White people arenāt stereotyped this way. They arenāt stereotyped as violent scary people. They donāt have to deal with this systematic injustice and violence.Ā
Even the scary white people who shoot up buildings and kill people are often brought out alive (and they are usually called mentally ill- not thugs). Why is is that unarmed black people are shot dead in the street, and no one is ever held responsible?Ā
So I ask again, why would people protest? Officer Moore will get justice and he will forever be hailed as a hero. And cops will continue to be hailed as heroās. And children will continue to want to be police officers when they grow up. And they will use every resource available to them to bring down the person who did this.
You seem to be very uninformed about police brutality towards black people, and even more uninformed about racism in America (especially because you are trying to use reverse racism in your argument), so I would suggest that you learn more about it. Racism comes with history. Black people have not just pulled this stuff out of our asses. There is not a crisis in America involving white people being unjustly killed by black people. That has never been a trend in American history, but black people being unjustly killed by white people is a long standing American tradition. A case here or there of black people unjustly murdering white people does not systematic racism make.Ā
This is the reason that you cannot make false equivalencies like the one you are making.Ā
Every time a black person is unjustly murdered by the police and there is no punishment, it reminds us of how little worth is given to black life. Because historically this has always been the case.Ā
When a white person is unjustly murdered in America there is almost always justice. Their lives have always mattered. Their humanity has always mattered.
That is why we protest. That is why we are outraged. Itās our time to make it clear that our lives matter too.Ā
