John Tracy had only called out to a brother for serious help once in his life. He’d been attending first year university at the time where the majority of students in his classes were eighteen or older. John, thanks to a genius IQ and a photographic memory, had barely reached his fifteenth birthday. Looking back, it was easy to see they had expected too much of him – not academically but in all the life skills that hadn’t had a chance to catch up.

John had put it all behind him, matured into a confident, competent young man with a Master’s degree in Theoretical Astrophysics who had blown through NASA training to qualify as an astronaut, spoke five languages fluently and juggled multiple rescues and requests simultaneously without batting a single, ginger eyelash. There wasn’t going to be another call for help in the night.

At least that’s what Virgil thought until his watch chimed quietly at two a.m. on a Tuesday morning ...

Man... Been real quiet around here lately, it's been like a total bombardment of rescues back to back to back!! Everyone has barely been home for days. I guess it's a good job it's summer holidays, because I'd have no one to take me to school anyway.
