Don’t mind me, I’m just gonna jump in here 👀:
- Shinyo regularly takes Keigo to the park at night. He can’t be seen during the day, so sunset/night time is better.
-When it’s a peaceful night without threats Shinyo and Keigo will go on quiet walks through the park and enjoy the isolation. The theif will smile as he watches his son chase crickets and frogs in the uncut grass.
- The sidewalks and pathways are lit up by the moon and Keigo’s small footsteps are lound in the silence as he skips across the cement.
- Keigo has the Swings and the Slide all to himself!
-The entire park is empty so him and Shinyo can play tag and chase each other across the playground without running into anybody. Which is good since both of them are very fast and agile! Keigo’s gotten good at leaping across the jungle gym & using size to his advantage during chase!
-Sometime’s when playing tag he’ll hide in one of the tube slides, especially if he know’s his dad is too big to fit!
- The playground was good practice when Keigo was learning how to fly! Since no one was around at night there were no distractions.
- He could leap off the tall toy’s and Shinyo would catch him. Keigo had to trust that his father wouldn’t let him fall. He never did hit the ground.
- Shinyo teaches Keigo how to properly take care of his Talons and wings! And not just with preening and nail files.
-Your quirk is like a muscle; the more you use it, the stronger it gets. So Shinyo always makes sure that Keigo get’s enough “flight time” to keep his wings strong. He also makes sure Keigo uses his talons while playing outside (climbing, hunting, etc.) so they stay sharp and healthy!
- Keigo uses his dad’s wings as a blanket. No this is not a debate & no Shinyo doesn’t mind. Yes they both need cuddles. Yes they both need hugs. Let them live.
- Keigo needs an education. Shinyo knows this, but how can he possibly put his child through school? Well he doesn’t, at least not yet.
- For now Keigo is home schooled (kinda). Shinyo doesn’t really know how to teach but he try’s his best. Really he does.
- He trys to teach Keigo all he can (not just streetsmarts). It’s pretty easy to start with the basics. Reading, writing, simple math/counting. Keigo’s very young, he’d just be starting school at around this time. So he doesn’t need to known too too much, but still.
- teaching can be hard and sometimes Shinyo doesn’t even know where to start or what to prioritize. Especially for future education. It isn’t too difficult now, but the future is uncertain.
- so he goes to his local library in disguise and steals all the books that he thinks are relevant. (Yes he steals library books. Is it a new low? Probably. Does he ever return them? Probably not. But what did you expect? Shut up.)
- The man stays up all night researching tips and flipping through pages. He tries to figure out what to prioritize and what exactly a child at Keigo’s age needs to know. It’s a whole fiasco for him and he bends over backwards trying to get as much info as possible.
-The man is trying, okay? He may not be a teacher but damn it he’s stubborn and determined as hell. He’s going to give his son all the life skills he needs to live- not just survive, live. And he going to do it even if it kills him. So Bless his heart & curse his c+ Intelligence.
- Shinyo and Keigo often communicate nonverbally. Sometimes emotions are too much to say out loud, sometimes words are hard to understand, sometimes it’s hard to get your point across just by speaking, and sometimes the people in your life are emotionally constipated (*cough* Shinyo *cough*).
-So body language is second nature to both of them. Head tilts, glances, wing twitches, expression changes, bodily shifts/movements, muscle tenses, talon twitches/flexes, wing movements etc.
- it was a strange language to learn at fist, because certain reactions are different for certain people. And those reactions are triggered by certain things. but the two of them can read each other very well now.
- chirps are also commonly used! They’re birds after all!
- Chirps are different however. Sure they can mean certain/specific things, but they’re mostly mean to convey emotion. Chirping isn’t exactly a language with “words”. It’s more of a language with feeling and you can just kinda tell what the other person means.
- Shinyo didn’t use to chirp much, but now he does it because he knows Keigo will respond. His sons happy chirps are worth more than anything he could ever steal.
- this is pretty much obvious by now, but don’t hurt Keigo.
-If you hurt the most precious thing Shinyo’s ever stole he will 100% kill you, write your obituary, and then punch the person who gave your eulogy.
- seriously bro just don’t do it.
(I know it’s already been said but credit for Shinyo Takami goes to @sleepwalkersqueen ! Go check out The Fear of You!!)
