This Blog is dedicated to my Baldur's Gate 3 Tav, Daenyra. She was inspired by Daenerys Targaryen. Daenyra is a draconic bloodline sorcerer with red dragon ancestry and is a princess along with being Tiamat's chosen.

Wanna know something crazy?

I wasn't expecting Draenyra to be liked. Originally, their relationship was very different until I changed it to what they have now:

Dror wasn’t going to be soft on her or respect her at all despite being married to her. Daenyra didn’t have the choice to marry him because her uncle was the one who arranged the marriage for an army, so he could take the throne of Drakoria. Dror only had her around to flex. The uncle still exists and still an ass. He doesn’t deal directly with Dror.

I kept a bit of that original dynamic at the beginning of their relationship. At the beginning, where Daenyra was captured by the goblins, Dror didn’t even see her as person and just assumed she was some weak princess until she proved him wrong. That’s when he slowly started respecting her and treating her like a person.

Snippet Sunday

So sorry I’ve not been around as much, I’ve been doing other things but I do bring an offering

Daenyra returned to the goblin camp. Surprisingly there were some remaining goblins that were spared from the attack. The gate guard immediately recognized Daenyra.

“My queen…” the gate guard bowed. “I didn’t think ya would return. Ya up and went with those killers.”

“I’m no longer associated with them. But I came back, because I have this.” Daenyra said as she pulled out the resurrection scroll. “I need you to take me to Dror’s body, now!” Daenyra commanded.

“Oh…oh of course, my queen.” The gate guard replied. He leads her through the goblin camp. There were a few goblins cleaning up the massacre. They stopped their activities to watch Daenyra walk through the courtyard and go inside the fort. There were blood stains, rubble, and scorch marks from the fight. “We left ‘im in the throne room in the back. We didn’ wanna move ‘im.”

“Good. Because I would’ve had your heads.” Daenyra said. The gate guard stops at the broken door to the throne room.

“He’s all yours, my queen.” The gate guard said. Daenyra enters the throne room and sees Dror’s body on the platform. He laid in front of his broken throne, his body was untouched. Seeing him motionless on the floor, made Daenyra hurt all over again.

Daenyra clutched tightly onto the scroll before walking up to his body. She knelt down beside him and placed a hand on his cheek. “You’ll be reborn again, Dror.” She pulls her hand away before untying the ribbon on the scroll. She recites the spell then takes the magic straight to his chest. A blinding light filled the room.

“Daenyra.”

What are your Tav’s intentions/goals after the end of the game?

Daenyra wanted to take back her home from House Aerid who had invaded her home.

However, the deaths that followed her and the other traumatic things she went through caused her to snap. Lutos and Malis’s deaths was her last straw. She was full of rage and revenge. She destroyed half of the lower city of Baldur’s Gate, With Valipa, before assaulting Wyrm’s Rock to confront Gortash, who was responsible for the deaths of her two dragons.

She did succeed in defeating Gortash. She ordered Valipa to burn him. It ended with Gortash being turned to ash. Wyll came in moments after, realizing what she had done. He knew she was too far gone, it resulted to them fighting. Wyll ended up winning and Daenyra lost, unable to continue her goal.

In a Modern AU, What Would Your OC's Ethnicity/Nationality Be?

Daenyra would be English/British

Since Daenyra is based off Daenerys Targaryen. I did some research on the Targaryens and see what would their nationality be. It’s a mix of medieval English, Egyptian, and Ancient Rome cultures.

Did your Tav have any romantic and/or sexual relationships prior to their illithid adventure? If yes, who was it with and what was it like? If no, how did they feel about being single?

Technically yes.

Before Daenyra and Dror got together, Daenyra was meant to marry a prince of the same race (Tiamat Tiefling) because Tiamat chose for her. She couldn’t stand him because he was self adsorbed and childish. Before any wedding could be planned, Drakoria was invaded by House Aerid. Daenyra rarely talked about the prince she was going to marry, because she found him irrelevant and she tends to not think about people who are not important to her.

She only told Minthara about him whenever they would have casual conversations with some wine. Daenyra didn’t tell Dror because she knew he would start something drastic

How does your Tav feel about giving and receiving orders?

It comes naturally to her to give orders because she is a princess. She doesn’t have any hard feelings about giving orders

As for receiving orders she doesn’t like it and will get agitated. The only exception is Tiamat since she doesn’t have any choice when Tiamat gives her orders

What Would Your OC Wear in a Modern/College AU?

Heavy on the satin/silk clothes. She’d definitely have designer brands in a modern AU

What would Daenyra’s coffee order be?

She wouldn’t drink coffee but she’d order a dragon drink or at least have a copycat of it.

She’s more of a tea/refresher drinker rather than a coffee drinker

Snippet Sunday:

Haven’t made any progress with any of my Daenyra fics. So that’s why I’m posting here but here’s this story I’m working on where the grand design happens. I’ve only written the prologue so far in Lunara’s POV

Lunara’s pov

I was with my girlfriend, Karlach, as we walked the market within the lower city of Baldur’s Gate. Karlach had run into an old friend and was catching up with them. As they were talking, I had a terrible feeling in my gut. As if something disastrous was coming. I was standing in the middle of the busy market of Baldur’s gate, lost in my thoughts. The voices in the market slowly drowned out, which became background noise to me. Then I felt it, A vibration at my feet. I squat down and feel the ground with the palm of my hand. Definitely a vibration. The hidden nature within the city was sending me a warning, But of what?

I kept focusing on the vibration. Then I was hit with a sharp headache to a point I saw something. Nautiloids and Mindflayers were in the sky, the city of Baldur’s Gate was under siege. Amongst the chaos was the Elder brain.

The Grand Design is coming. She spoke. I was snapped out of the vision where Karlach was hovering over me. She had a look of concern. I was lying on the ground flat on my back

“Lu? Are you alright? You went unconscious and started to shaking, you weren’t responding.” Karlach explained.

“I’m fine. But there’s something coming. Something bad.” I replied, sitting up.

“Something bad? What do you mean?”

“The Mindflayers are coming. The Elder brain is here. This city is in danger.” I told her before standing up.

Snippet Sunday

Forgot to post, this is a continuation of the last snippet I have shown last week

Daenyra sank into her bed, her dragons followed, settling close beside her. Valipa, Daenyra’s red dragon, slithered into her lap. Daenyra stroked her head. Lutos, the green dragon, and Malis, the black dragon lean against her body. They purr softly in attempt to make her better. Daenyra felt guilty for leaving them behind while she was in the goblin camp, unfortunately leaving the camp wasn’t much of an option since she was married to Dror, and constantly watched by goblins. Her dragons were the only family she had left, living remnants of her past. They were still young, with much growing to do before they would be strong enough to be ridden.

Daenyra used the sleeve of the her robe to wipe her tears. “What would I have done without you?” she murmured softly to her dragons. She glanced across her tent, her gaze drifted across the tent until it settled on Dror’s warhammer, “You would love them, Dror,” she whispered, imagining he was listening. “Especially Malis.” Malis let out a proud huff after she mentioned his name. Lutos started to tug on her sleeve to get her attention.

“Lutos, What’s wrong?” She asked him. Lutos glides over to the food chest Daenyra keeps in her tent.

“You’re hungry, alright. I’ll feed you.” Daenyra stands up and grabs her key to unlock the chest. She digs through the chest she picks up a slab of pork. She uses her magic to cook the pork before dropping it onto the small table next to her bed. The three dragons rushed over to it and gobbled down. Daenyra turns her attention back to Faithbreaker and steps closer to it and touches the handle, hoping it would bring some connection to her.

Snippet Sunday

I’ve hit a block with my current fanfic, but here’s one I started working on.

Daenyra is rescued from the goblins by Wyll and the party however she was angry at him for killing Dror. So she leaves the party and tries to find a way to resurrect Dror

Daenyra had a scowl etched across her face as she stared into the flames. The memory of Wyll delivering the final blow to Dror replayed endlessly in her mind. A part of her wanted to harm him for it, but it took every ounce of restraint within her to keep her urge at bay.

Daenyra’s ears twitched at the sound of footsteps behind her.

“Daenyra.” hearing Wyll’s soft voice already made her blood start to boil.

“I’m sorry I had to kill him.” He said gently, “But you have to understand. He was controlling you with his tadpole. Those feelings for him are an illusion.”

Daenyra rose to her feet, clenching her hands into tight fists. The tension coiled through her body as she could feel herself getting angry. It was too late, she spun around to face him, fury blazing in her purple eyes.

“What do you know!?” Daenyra snapped, “My husband had no control over me whatsoever! I told you to leave me be, but you just had to be a hero!”

Wyll struggled to stay calm. He was convinced that Dror’s tadpole left a charm on her.

“Daenyra, Dror would’ve killed you or done worse.” Wyll said gently, “He was a savage beast that needed to be put down.”

At his last words, sparks flickered in Daenyra’s fists. One hand lifted, and fire formed in her palm. With a sharp motion, she released the firebolt, sending it into a nearby tree behind Wyll. He stared at her, with a look of shock.

“You ruined everything, Kraskdao… murderer,” Daenyra said coldly before retreating to her tent.

Did the Dream Guardian look like someone Daenyra would trust?

Yes but technically no. The Emperor took Vhaena’s form because he assumed that Daenyra trusted her own mother because she had so many memories of her. When In reality Daeny actually resents her mother because she was groomed and manipulated by Vhaena to become Tiamat’s chosen. Daeny is hostile to her dream guardian which lead her to not evolving with her tadpole and betraying the emperor
