normalize lying to matt lauer about seeing a clown explode to death in his little clown car
If I was a celebrity forced to do endless repetitive interviews, I would absolutely make up outrageous shit that is just feasible enough to be believable. Imagine that absolute joy & entertainment that has the potential to bring. Bonus, I'm a deeply private person so nobody would really know shit about me.
apologist
thereâs something so embarrassing about all the cast members in the new harry potter series that are openly being like âi want everyone to know i donât agree with jk rowlingâs views on trans peopleâ like they think that will make up for them being on the show. maybe itâs just for the sake of their own consciences but it reads as âi know her views and actions harm people but iâm in it for the paycheckâ. itâs not like this is just an adaptation of rowlingâs work without her involvement, she is an executive producer on the show đ at that point just donât say anything

The Watermelon Woman (1996) dir. Cheryl Dunye
Hey this movie is really important in queer history! It was the first feature length film directed by a black lesbian! You can watch it here for free!
I really recommend you do because while it is a rom-com (and a drama), it also looks at how the stories of black queers are over looked in history.
something really funny about the idea of people living through the bronze age calling it the bronze age. I guess that makes this the lithium age?
dress up is one of the most important pillars of gameplay that is often ignored by game developers to disasterous results
I thought you might like these moss-filled pawprints in concrete which I saw earlier. :-)

a type of guy that exists and that you get often exposed to as a sex worker is the type of guy who found out they like being dommed and now sincerely believe that they have overcome their misogyny, because now instead of treating women like submissive sex objects, they treat women like dominant sex objects.
@demilypyro is so correct
the venn diagram of "men who think they're not misogynistic because they like femdom" and "men who think they're not transphobic because they jack off to trans women" is a circle
add in "white people who think they're not racist because they fetishize people of color"
this is just joss whedon & everything he touches
Soulslike where as you complete various objectives it gradually becomes clear that your camp is accumulating conspicuously barefoot level up maidens.
Each has her own distinct advancement paradigm which would offer some truly disgusting cross-class builds, except how well they synergise depends on their relationship levels with each other rather than with you. Advanced buildcraft thus obliges you to play level up maiden matchmaker.
A simple error got magnified by Flock's nationwide surveillance camera network and ended with four cop cars boxing me in.
Oh hey! Look! It's that thing everyone on the left said was going to happen happening!
âThe plates on this car are stolen,â Officer Ganshyn said. My face mustâve twisted in disbelief because he continued, saying they werenât sure whether the car itself or just the plates were stolen. This made absolutely no sense. Car companies keep meticulous track of the fleets they loan out to the media. The vehicles all have special manufacturer or dealer plates that are logged every time one enters or exits. The officers eventually ran the Range Roverâs VIN, and it came back clean, but in their view, the plates were definitely stolen.
Before I could even process that, another officer dropped the big surprise: theyâd actually been tracking me around town for days via Flock cameras. But they kept losing the trail, so when a camera alerted them that the Range Rover had been spotted turning into Kohlâs that morning, they quickly set up their ambush and waited for me and my wife to walk out of the store and get into the SUV.
[âŠ]
One of the officers pulled out his phone, opened the Flock app, and showed me two photos: a wide shot of the Range Rover going through the intersection and a zoomed-in shot of the New Jersey license plate, which clearly reads 34 10 DTM and says VEHICLE MFR along the bottom. Critically, the number 10 is in a much smaller font than the rest of the tag, which is the non-standard structure New Jersey uses for manufacturer plates.
[âŠ]
The New Jersey plates that were allegedly stolen from the LA dealer were 34 03 DTM, not 34 10 DTM. But when the police report was created and the plate was entered into Flockâs system, it was just recorded as 34 DTM. Just the five large characters, no little number in the middle. And Flockâs AI tech wasnât registering that non-standard little number when it began picking up the Range Rover around town. It just saw 34 DTM in large type and started alerting the local police.
As we all stood there shaking our heads, including my wife, who was finally allowed to join me, I connected the final dot. A lot of vehicles in JLRâs media fleet have a New Jersey manufacturer plate with the same alphanumeric structureâ34 ## DTMâand Officer Ganshyn observed that meant it was now a nationwide issue. Anywhere a police department has a partnership with Flock, any other JLR-owned car with the same plate structure is going to get flagged as stolen. In fact, four other 34 ## DTM cars were being tracked around Minnesota that week, according to Officer Ganshyn. I was just the first one to get nabbed. The only way to stop it would be for the LAPD to correct their initial report and update Flockâs system, which Jaguar Land Rover was now racing to make happen following the phone call.
Still, he warned me to drive straight home, park the Range Rover, and leave it there. If I were to cross into the neighboring town, Iâd probably get flagged again and go through this entire ordeal again with a different set of officers. His parting words were ominous: âYouâre lucky weâre in Plymouth. If you were in Minneapolis, they definitely wouldâve come at you with guns drawn.â

Literally where I stand in this âhistorical accuracyâ discourse lol
Remember old Hollywood historical movies that werenât accurate yet still served? We need to have that back.
We must DESATURATE the entire color pallet because as we know from 2010s video games, the world is nothing but a desaturated place with some hazy yellows and browns if you're lucky.

Here's a fun fact, Nolanâs team initially consulted Greek blacksmith and armorer Dimitrios Katsikis, renowned for his historically accurate Mycenaean armor for the film.
However, the production ghosted him, opting instead to use highly stylized, non-traditional 3D printed dark armor.
Behold his reconstruction of Odysseus' armor;
This Greek Blacksmith is known globally as the modern Hephaestus, and I will never forgive Nolan.
People know that the whole "don't portray [harmful action] because viewers might recreate it" thing is a rule for children's shows right? It's supposed to be shit like "don't show peppa pig playing with fire so we don't get sued if a kid watches it and burns their house down." Not like, fanfiction for adults.
prev i hope u dont mind me sharing ur tags bc yeah this is an interesting add on
Re: those last points
This is why the rhyme "red touches black, you're okay Jack, red touches yellow you're a dead fellow" for differentiating coral snakes from other similarly pattern species like some milk, snakes and mountain King snakes has fallen out of favor in children's science programming. That rhyme is only applicable in certain regions of the United States, and even then there is enough variation in erratic color morphs in American coral snake species that this doesn't hold up. More crucially, however, Central and South American species of coral snake don't necessarily follow this pattern- so when American shows get translated into Spanish and distributed to a Latin American audience, it can potentially be dangerous for a kid to hear this snake identifying rhyme.
Then again, despite being highly venomous, coral snakes are known for having an extremely calm disposition and usually don't bite even if stepped on or handled. So a lot of people have questioned how useful the rhyme is in the first place, as opposed to general advice of telling kids to be respectful to animals and not mess with them, especially if they can't identify it.
