Game Rules:
I do want to try and aim for a coherent story, but these are the general rules in place that will help shape it.
Mass extinction events is on. If a cat dies, they are dead for good.
In addition to the above rule, if a cat needs to die for plot reasons, they are gonna.
Most Patrols are going to depend on the Patrol Traits. For example, if a patrol of three comes across a loner and the traits are positive (ex. loving, charismatic, etc.), they will proceed. However, if the traits are majority negative (ex. cold, bloodthirsty, etc.), they will aggravate. This rule may be bent at times
Cheating is on until I decide otherwise, whether due to clan size or relationship stuff
Unknown second parent is on, same behaviors as the rule above.
No romance between former mentors and first cousins. We're not ThunderClan here
Not every cat will be shown unless their event is important.

I love this comic and its characters so much and it was one of my early inspirations for starting my own comic with Astray! So I couldn't NOT join the design contest, especially if I get to design a sweet old lady :3c
I went with a real soft round design for that sweet Puddlesand vibe, but if she's a real old loner then she's been adventuring!! She's got stories to tell, she's seen the world, and lost an eye in exchange for her roaming.
I mostly colour dropped the sprite with some tweaks to make the cool greys work with the warmer greys, but I liked the warm tint against the blue white of her fur, gave it that good puddle sand mix in my mind.
I also picture with age she's pretty insecure on her feet, has a wide stance to deal with a lack of balance, got arthritic joints/bones and matted fur all around her back legs and tummy that she can't reach to groom like she used to. (My own cat is old so I know what an old cat can look and feel like, age shows so much in their posture)

With Moon 25 FINALLY on the horizon, and with things settling back into a normal pace, I can finally celebrate this blog reaching 1000 Followers! I know it's been very up and down lately, but I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for keeping up with TidalClan. I promise there is more to come as I get more and more satisfied with the style I want the comic to be in! I want to deliver something you all can enjoy and get attached to!
In celebration, two upcoming cats (one that will be seen right away in Moon 25) have the chance to be designed by YOU! But if you're not interested, please reblog this post so it can interest other artists out there!

The information provided to you will be their names, their in-game sprite and some very basic personality. Condorstar! Yes! A leader!
Condorstar is a long-furred, white tom with brown rosette markings splotched on his flank, and a spot of brown on his right cheek, and yellow eyes.
Secondly we have:
Puddlesand!
Puddlesand is an elderly gray point calico tabby she-cat with deep blue eyes. (She's actually described as "gray/ginger point calico tabby", though her sprite has no ginger! Buuuuuuuuuut if you want to add ginger to her design, go for it!).
Rules:
- Submissions must be your own original works. Any suspicion of AI usage will result in an immediate disqualification. No base recolors, no sources outside drawing software.
- By submitting, you agree that the design, if chosen, belongs to me and will be used in the comic.
- As such, anything that happens to the character is a result of the ClanGen RNG or plot relevance. If they die, they are gone with no questions.
- Colored, Fullbody sketches are the most preferred.
- You do not need to be a follower to enter! Everyone will have equal chance of winning, as every submission will be placed into a wheel.
- That said, ONLY ONE SUBMISSION PER PERSON. While you may draw both, I will not be choosing both designs for Condor and Puddle from the same person. There *should* be two winners, unless the wheel decides otherwise.

We had 48 people submit quilt blocks for our pride quilt for this month's event and we've created an awesome spread representing the clangen creator community's pride. As usual if you have a question about who drew a particular square we can probably identify them for ya :3
My submission for @tidalclan's 1000 follower character design contest! (And congrats on Moon 25 being on the way!) Tidal clan was one of the first clangen comics I'd ever read, so I'm happy for it's return, and to participate.
Condorstar was fun to design. I struggled in coloring his rosette's, but I like how it looks. I also thought he needed very large fangs.
Puddlesand was more difficult to draw. I originally planned on her having some ginger (that I intended to turn to cream) to look like sand where her back markings are. I couldn't find a good color, so I didn't go with that. Instead I tried to make her stripes look like water ripples.
Congrats again on 100 followers, and I hope you like the designs :]

I’ve had this in my drafts for months but here’s proof I aint dead
Updated refs! Everyone will be updated with this template provided by the wonderful @/aphidclan-clangen. For now though, here’s Shadestar and Lightchaster
If you didn't see, the Clangen Creator Community celebrated it's 1st birthday on March 23rd, so we thought we would run the same event that we ran the first month that the server was open - a banner event!
The original event featured 38 cats, but this time we were able to have a gathering of 60! Each cat was drawn and submitted by a different creator in our server in their own unique style, meaning we also have over 60 art styles represented here, which is so incredibly cool.
HUGE SPECIAL THANKS TO @bristleclanismissing, whom we commissioned to make the background but graciously assembled and FULLY SHADED the whole piece! Thank you so much, Coffee <3
We mention it a lot, but we are truly so grateful for this community, and hopefully the immense amount of love put into this project by our participants is easily felt. Here's to another year of creation!
what do you mean its been a year since the last tidalclan page-
this is just a mini rant/vent/word explosion cause man-
i know what i want to do for TidalClan moving forward. I love and adore ClanGen Comics that delve deeper beyond just the RNG descriptions and show that through their comic pages. These pages still inspire me even now when I haven’t picked up the pen in a while.
I know this:
- I want to write more scenes with dialogue and build a coherent story
- I want to get better at drawing backgrounds
- I want to get into a comfy schedule where I can draw my pages without getting into burn-out or stress
But I also know
- I work a 9-5 job that leaves me pretty exhausted
- I have extra-curricular activities often after my job so that’s double tired
- I’m trying to get a Twitch going (hopefully streaming art might get some more pages done)
- My weekends are often unpredictable
So…Yeah. I gotta get better at managing my timing. I really want to come back to TidalClan, I miss it a lot.
Thanks for sticking with me, those who have. I really appreciate it a whole ton. I hope to be back soon.
